Controversy

I would just like to address the issue people keep bringing up about the knife not being sharp. This is a "stinger" blade. That means its purpose is to 'sting' AKA stab. This is not a slash and cut tool or weapon. That's why some come with serration. Just wanted to throw that out there, many of you claim to be some big knife fan and have some big collection, maybe you should learn about the hobby you claim to love so much.

rattles in the sheath

like all the special agent knives and I have them all . good blade slap a good edge on it and it will get the job done ... the harness ? works but cheap and the plastic sheath is to big for the blade and rattles around bad !!! I shoved a piece of old boot top in mine with some cement on it ,works great and quite !!

good knife

the knife is good but both of mine came dull. I personally sharpen all 30 of my knives till they cut better than a razor, so when these came I broke out my favorite sharpening kit and began to sharpen them but quickly realised this is no slashing tool; this knife will not sharpen personally but the tip is very sharp and came that way. as for the serrations they came sharp and are very useful. overall great purchase

Nice throwing knife but

I ordered two of these in a BOGO sale because there are times when it is a good idea to have a concealed source of protection. The knife was a little smaller than I thought but is made well with a full tang and injection molded handle over the tang. It is well balanced and fairly sharp out of the box, but with a quick touch-up, it cut the heck out of my finger as I accidentally touched it on the last pass of the sharpening stone. It is well balanced and throws straight, and is good enough to use for more than just throwing. I like mine and have them one each in our bug-out bags. But the shoulder harness could be of a better quality. It is a little flimsy and is not very comfortable to wear for long periods of time (but then again I am 6' and 250 lbs. so it might just be me).

Nice throwing knife but

not a thrower

The knife is a nice solid piece but its bad for throwing and the sheath is horrible. But for the price I'm happy I got to add a new knife to the collection.

Stinger

Very well made, although sharpening is recommended but it's great for concealing and protection. If you wear jackets or vests this works well since it's right there under the arm. You sometimes even forget you have it because it fits well, is comfortable and adjusts to the wearer.

Horrible sheath. Very disapointed. The stitching pretty much ripped right out of the box and the knife jiggles badly in the holder. The knife itself is good, but not $13 good. Im going to try and make this work but I reccomend against this product for anyone else. This gets a 3/5 though because you get what you pay for.

Overall

I appreciate the design implemented in this model. The blade is thick and tapered to produce a potentially kevlar-piercing point and the steel runs through the entire handle, protruding from the back end to present a blunt block of steel which could even be used in an emergency situation; perhaps for breaking a car window?

The knife is great. I may not be a master bladesmith, but this seems to be quite sturdy despite its small and slim build. The blade was quite sharp and is pretty well balanced for throwing and quick motions.

My only complaints lie with the shoulder harness (which was why i bought this one over its counterparts). the harness is very large and not very adjustable to fit my shoulders. it has a substantial amount of elastic, but with the excessive size of the loop I would have preferred more nylon (or whatever the other fabric is) and be able to adjust it.
As it is the blade spent more time hanging loosely under my armpit than securely against my shoulder.

also the seams on the nylon part of the harness have already come undone.
and lastly, the blade jiggles loosely inside the plastic inner sheath...it may be just me but the purpose of a concealed weapon is to remain concealed, not click whenever you move

overall, VERY good blade...poor sheath and harness

agent stinger

I bought this knives b/c I like the shoulder hardness up off the side and out of the way. this knife is a very good knife for the money. i have lots of diff. kinds of knives this knife has a very good length to it. i like this knife i would recommend this knife to any one who wants a good knife. it is double edge on one side and 1/2 serrated edge on the other side. normal blade over all its a good knife.

Another bad sheath on another cheap United Cutlary product. The knife slides around in the sheath. It doesn't even feel like it should go with the sheath. knife was sharp and well balanced to throw but the metal it so cheap that it will bend. Knife ok, sheath a disaster which is sad cause it's the selling point of this item. Beware of your comments on this site cause they go through reviews and take out the bad ones....not really an honest thing to do. I also live in California and they shipped it to me anyway.

The actual knife is good. Fairly well constructed, okay blade, etc. Where this product ultimately falls short is in the sheath. All round, the shoulder harness is poorly constructed. But what can you really expect for $12.99?

Overall, this is definitely a 'you get what you pay for' product. Not terrible, but could be improved.

Sharp, clean, and the harness is comfortable. Nothing more you can want.
