  • 2 1/2" razor-sharp 440 stainless steel tanto blade
  • Tailwind assisted-open mechanism
  • Thumb stud and blade spur for one-hand opening
  • Sturdy pocket clip
  • Injection-molded nylon handle
  • 6" overall length

Part scimitar, part bat wing, the curved blade on this piece is tactical and deadly.

Forged using 7CR13 stainless steel blade, this blade highly sharpened and ready to be deployed. The ultra fast Tailwind assisted-open mechanism is activated by pressing the blade spur on the back of the blade. The injection-molded nylon handle absorbs shock and has a design matching that of the blade. 2 1/2 in. blade, 6 in. overall.

How are Spring Assist different from a Gravity Knife or Switchblade Knife?

Gravity or Switch Blade knives feature a button, level, or other type of switch that releases a spring pressure to automatically open the blade. On a Spring Assist knife, there is no separate button or switch. Instead, you apply pressure to part of the blade to begin the opening process. This is usually a small bump of metal which sticks out under the knife, making it fast and comfortable to use. Once you press on that part of the blade, it automatically opens and locks into place. Since the action of opening the knife is started by pressing the blade metal, instead of a button or switch, it is considered to bypass the laws which ban Switch Blade knives.

This knife is really very good. The handle has nice grip, very hard for it to slip. It is a little hard to sharpen at first, but I got use to it. Very cool design I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks True Swords for a great knife for a great price!

Love the Tailwind Assist

I have ordered several items from budk.com and have yet to be disappointed. This open assist recurve folding knife was very sharp right out of the box, as have all the knives I have ordered from them have been, no complaints what so ever. I have not had any problems with my knife like have I have read in some of the other comments, thankfully! Overall a great little blade fits nicely in the hand, good and sharp, and the open assist works wonderfully.

A great knife but not a pocket knife

This unique knife looks fantastic and is a welcome addition to my collection. Sadly, the knife has a tendency to open partially on its own, which makes it very dangerous to carry in your pocket. Last night, the knife opened partially while it was in my pocket. I was unaware that it had opened, and I cut my hand severely when I reached into my pocket to get my keys.

overall, this is a good knife. light, quick open, and had a good edge right out of the box. i encountered a strange problem with mine, it didn't seem to have the locking mechanism that many assisted open knives have when in the closed position. and its gotten to the point where now it won't stay closed for more than 3 seconds. maybe i just got a defective one, but like i said, when working properly, this is probably my favorite knife

Great Knife

OK read the reviews about this knife and ordered it. I am so glad I did this thing is extremely shard out of the box it shaves hair off my arm. I love the ay it opens it is not overly easy to use the assist button which will prevent accidental opening while in the pocket. I cannot say enough about how much I like this knife. If you want to good sized pocket knife that is sharp and reliable, this is it. BUY it Now!
