The Celt-Iberians of Roman times were justly famed for their weapons like the Falcata, which is one of the most devastating swords ever made! The inward curving blade delivered a tremendous blow and could split both shield and helmet. Considered to be of Greek, or possibly Etruscan origin, this sword spread into Southern Russia and also Spain. It was in Spanish hands that it was most feared by the Romans. The Windlass Steelcrafts reproduction has a 20 1/8” 1065 high carbon steel blade that is 2 1/4” in width. The 5” handle is crafted of solid brass, in a curved design, with intricate engraved patterns and a polished finish. The 25 1/4” overall Falcata sword reproduction slides securely into a genuine leather scabbard with brass hanging rings.
