Seriously, the video says 44 and one eight inch long. What kinda of size were you expecting dummy? The spear is perfect for what I thought I was getting. It's tough, durable, and above all deadly. My spear has not bent or broken, but a few objects its gone through are!!! Two thumbs up!!!

Product clearly states 44and1/8 overall length if everyone would finish reading before they buy nobody would be crying. Picture even shows guy holding butt of spear in right palm. That is a short spear. Exactly the one everyone got, short spear for good balance.

Great spear to have. i agree it isnt as long as most of us had expecter, and the sheath takes a bit of getting used to to get off. BUT it is a great piece to have, handles most cases...brought it out to the woods along with my black legion camping hatchet(also a really reliable piece) and took down a tree about 8-9 inches thick (mainly with the axe not so much the spear) but i had thrown it into quite a few trees, even some traffic cones. great item overall and worth the 70$

I'm 6'1", 215, and this M48 Survival Spear is a perfect addition to my collection. If it were any longer the balance would shift to the front and make it uncontrollable. It's the perfect size for it's balance. It's sturdy and I found the blade to be extremely sharp and durable. No, it's not meant for throwing into concrete but the wood and trees I threw it were peneatrated easily without any damage to the spear. For the price, workmanship and reliability of the product line...you can't do any better!

I just got my M48 Talon Survival Spear today via UPS. It came very fast and I have to say I am impressed! It is Very sturdy & has a thick razor sharp blade. People have had problems with the size but I think it is great & would be more effective for tactical use. I now own 3 M48 products and I am very pleased with them all and I plan to get more. These are great tools/weapons and a perfect addition to ones bug-out-bag!

Definitely too short for a guy my size (6', 220lb); recommend different lengths to accommodate different people. Very well made weapon, overall. A permanent part of my SHTF bag.

Top quality short spear. Great for protection against animals such as dogs and forest critters. Great for survival spearing fish is creeks and shallow rivers. It's light, strong, and easy to use. Spear head is sharp and heavy duty and the shaft is very durable. Over all an excellent tool/weapon.

I bought this spear for my g/f's father since he's a big knife collecter. So what do you get the guy who as almost every knife? A near 5-foot razor sharp spear!!! This thing is freakin' awesome to say the least. I'm gonna pick one up for me someday soon as well.

This is a very well made tool. Attention to detail in materials, design, and construction. Well balanced with a handle design that will allow the use as a hiking staff. The handle is a little bit short for me to use as hiking staff, I am six foot one inch. The blade is heavy duty. I really like this Tool.

very lightweight but durable. I don't think I'll ever break it and I'm rough with it. Would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about buying one. M48 makes very durable yet lightweight weapons, I plan on buying all M48's items

Man this thing is great. The blade is extra thick and sharp. The handle is very rugged. I have to agree with everyone else. I wish it was a foot longer. But other than that, well worth the money.

I bought the M-48 Hawk and am going to buy this spear too but I'm going to add an extension to the spear by drilling a hole in the end after removing that 1/2 inch smaller section and inserting a threaded fitting and getting a comparably sized piece of poly rod and drilling a hole in that end and inserting a bolt in the end and epoxy the pieces in so I can screw and unscrew the pieces together when I want a longer spear for throwing. Similar to a cane that can be unscrewed into 3 pieces, except this will only be two pieces.Hope this gives some people some ideas to lengthen their spears.

This was made for self defense. Mine will be used and practiced with for no other purpose. Sharp, lethal, it will supplement my other self defense skills and is clearly will designed for the job.

Hands down the best money I've spent at true swords. The picture does not even come close to giving justice. Very sturdy construction. Very heavy, very very thick blade. This is a serious weapon. Top notch. Highly recommended.

Great spear one of the sharpest blades I have. The only thing I really wish they would make this weapon longer it was too short but it was still great.

I received my spear today and was extremely satisfied. The only thing that I would like is an extra few inches in length for the handle (I am fairly tall and have to hold onto the blade to use it as a walking stick, plus my spear style works better with a 5 foot spear) but other then that, excellent build for a great price.

This item is just as sturdy as all the other m48 products. They are all quality and very durable. Worth the price. I plan on collecting all these products because they all look nice and are well made and worth having. I wish the axe and hammer heads were a little larger though. Maybe united will make that happen later. I would buy those too

The spear head is fine, but I had to make my own handle. The one that comes with it is too short. And just a note: the guy dressed in all black is un -realistic. No one wears all that crap unless they are urban SWAT. Why is he parading around like that ? No doubt he is sweating bullets. FYI

I would have given it 5 staers but the Handle needs to be at least 60 inches long

I have to say It works well for stabbing and piercing, but nor for prying or throwing. I wish the shaft was metal, it's not heavy enough to have a good straight arc when I'm throwing. Maybe I'm just used to having something heavier...

this is an awesome spear i just wish it was about a foot longer then and only then will you have the perfect spear, thats the only flaw i can point out, everything else about this spear is awesome, if you offered an extension that could be bolted on or a sleeve that is made out of the same material that could be connected somehow that would add another foot or 2, i would pay for that option, if you guys dont come up with something like that, i will

I am going to get this for my GF to keep in the house when I am out of town because she is uncomfortable operating my handguns when under stress. This weapon will create distance and also be lethal if needed at the same time. I am a big M48 fan, the gear can hold up to just about anything, and the spear stays true to that fact, its increadably rugged, i only wish that it was a little longer.

This spear is almost perfect, the one thing I would change is make the handle one foot longer so it could be used as a walking stick.

I can't give this 5 stars because it does have some drawbacks. However a great little weapon. I buy things for one reason only - hand to hand in an emergency. The Blade ROCKS, but sheath not so good. DO NOT use this as a walking stick, I am 5'9" and have to lean to get a grip below the blade. If you trip and fall, you risk impaling yourself - seriously! The handle is a little thin and it would have been better to give it a thicker handle to hold comfortably. It would clearly block a Arnis stick, etc, but not sure it would hold up against a baseball bat. It is just a bit longer overall than my Katana, but offers the ability to choke up for CQC and yet can still be swung in a sword-like manner. I would never throw it - Not a hunter and any weapon thrown is a lost weapon. A little head heavy, but I am sure training with it regularly will open a world of skills. It is very similar to the short Assegai and I opted for this because I got the sense the blade would be very solid and it is. I can't give a durability review because I won't risk it on that stuff - I have it for one purpose only. Also, I would never use this for a pry bar, not sure why they would put that in the description. Absolutely recommend it - razor sharp and will take care of business. I will buy another one (or more) at some point and will collect a lot of the M48 stuff and Honshu line.

This spear is way to short to be a useful/practical spear. The only thing going for this spear is the actual spear head. The spear head is very well made and super thick. The spear shaft is not even close to being strait, so this will not throw well. I am 5' 8" tall and this spear is still too small for me to use as a walking stick/cane. If your buying this for that purpose, look elsewhere, this m48 spear will only work as a walking stick/cane if your a hobbit! I bought it for that purpose and now it will sit on the wall!
