Gil Hibben Competition Throwing Knife Triple Set With Leather Sheath

I throw many models of knives from 6 inch to 13 inch and I do love this model. They are heavy, go where you want them to and fly nice. I throw half spin- holding blade side- so the one downfall with these is they have extremely sharp double sided blades halfway down the knife. I literally had to file down the sharpness to keep from cutting into my hand. All you need is a sharp point. However- that's not a bad thing- just something to watch out for. Great thrower.

these are great, they stick easy and rotate good. they all fit in the sheath and are easy to carry. The sheath is genuine leather and not some knock off sheath. For 40$ its a great price. They are starting to chip in the blade but honestly, I don't care that much. If the knife sticks that's great so don't be freaked out if they chip a little bit. I Highly recommend these for Intermediate knife throwers. Beginners can throw it but it is kind of heavy. You should be able to bench 15 pounds at least to throw these bad boys. I have been throwing these knives for over a year and they are my GO TO knives. When you get them you can start throwing right out of the box. You don't have to dull them down like you do with Cold Steel. The balance is amazing, so much so I do use them in routines where I juggle them like clubs. I did have one mess up and broke one. It was truly my fault I was getting trying for a close grouping, but that said I just bought another set. Now I will own 8 and a friend of mine also has 9. We have been able to throw these over 1000 times a day with little to no problems every day. Budk has the lowest prices and shipping is awesome. Truly Thank you

As a martial arts instructor for over 20 years, I have known many knives. I was given this set has a gift, and was thoroughly impressed. the balance is phenomenal, quality is strong, and the flight is true. well worth 3 times the amount bud k is asking for.

This is another great set of throwers designed by custom knife maker Gil Hibben. I have been using these for a couple of months now and have found them to be very tough and controlable. Although they are lighter than some of the other Hibben designs at 11.3 ounces and 12 1/8 inches long I find it is easy to get good distance with these knives. I have already purchased another set and I would recomend them to a friend. BUDK has gone the extra mile making it easy to find good knives for whatever I do at good prices.

perfect size and balance for throwers. ive been teaching knife throwing for over 10 years and these are great for anyone to learn on. i was worried they would come too sharp and have weak edges, but they didnt dissappoint and kept the blade edges strong so they wont bend. sheath isnt the best but does its job fine. 3 great throwers for this price is the best deal you will get anywhere.

I was very impressed when I got these knives in the mail! The weight and balance of these blades really help with accuracy. I've had a lot of fun testing these out these blades. They're sharp, heavy, but well balanced and very fun to throw.

Exceptional may even be an understatement. These are solid knives with great balance. The grade of steel is right up there where you would expect it to be. So many things sold online are just pieces of junk but with the Hibben's name on it you know these are the real deal.

I bought these for my sons to replace the cheap ones i bought for them to learn. These are very good quality and the boys love them. After they broke 5 of the cheap sets the first day they have been throwing these everyday for weeks and these have not warped, bent, broke or otherwise failed. If you want to throw and are serious, spend the extra money and get good knives, we will be buying more.

This was my first buy from budk and my first set of throwing knives but i will buy from here again.

As i took these out of the box today i was very impressed. Very stunning knives. My last set was the cold steel replica 9 inch arrow throwers, so jumping 3 more inches and over 3 times the weight was a bit difficult at first. On my other throwers i used a hammer grip exept the knives were really high in my hand(about 2 fingers). With these bad boys i had to switch to modified hammer grip(thumb on the spine, full grip). I never got why people used hammer grip till i got these. I can tell of durability but I can tell these are definatly quality and will last me a long time. Takes time to get used to but the deep "thunk" is very pleasing. 5/5

THESE knives are amazing the combination of gil hibben and budk NEVER DISAPPOINT you guys amaze me i have been throwing for about 5++ years and i have never even found a knife close to the quality durability of this knife..... and i have a hundred dollar one that works the same as this SET .........but i would love it if you did a review on the gil hibben new gen x throwers that was my second choice of throwing knifes

I just received these knives today now let me say that I'm am 13 I absolutely love these knives these are my first big throwing knives an they throw fantastic I recommend this to all who want an amazing knife for the price

I just recieved these knives today, and as soon as I took them out of the box I was impressed. They throw incredably well. They are some of the best knives you can throw. Perfectly balanced, stick well, and no negatives.

I have been throwing for years. I have had many different throwers. This set is FANTASTIC! They throw easy, carry distance well and are balanced perfect. Great for all skill levels.

I received these knives today and when I un-boxed them the appearance and weight pleased me. The balance is superb and the weight is great. I just threw them for about two hours and as a intermediate thrower I did wonderful with them. I could easily do 3-4 inch groups for about 5 yards. I would recommend to semi experienced throwers and great price.

These are well balanced and heavy enough to really feel the rotation. I have been throwing mine for a year now and still have all three. They are my favorite knives and I use them every time I throw.

I have been using these knives in competitions for some years now. This set is the only set Gil Hibben makes that fits the regulation size for competition throwing. I have never had a problem with them. In my opinion the only throwing knife that out dose them is the Tru-Bal Bowie-axe but to get your hands on one of those your looking at 100 bucks a knife and you need six for a competition and its always nice to have backups. If your a professional thrower or just want to have some fun in the back yard anyone who chooses to throw this set will be happy with what they got and specially for the ridicules cheap price Budk has them for. I recommend buying at least 2 sets before the price changes.

I recently bought the same style 8 1/2 inch knives which are very good knives They take quite a bit of abuse. My brother tried throwing them and they hit cement many times and it just got dull and one bowed a little after about 3 weeks of throwing. These 12 inch knives are amazing they stick very easily they are dull but that can be quickly remedied. They have been treated the same way as the 8 1/2s and only get scratches they are easy to throw blade or handle and when they hit they stick about an inch and a half in from a 10 meter throw.

this is a great product, i have been throwing for 10+ years and have not came across a better made thrower. for the past 2 years i have been using these and have just broke 1 and it was my fault, i threw it to hard and it hit flat side on top of a knife i threw right before it; but most throwers that i have had do not last 3 months. any weapon you use alot will brake eventually. very well balanced, do not get bent easily.

I too love the knife. These are well balanced and very well made. They just feel like the perfect throwing knife. In a pinch they could easily be used to stab and cut if sharpened. I'll buy another three soon.

I got these as a Christmas present and one knife was chipped. The person who gifted me contacted customer service, who said they'd email her a prepaid shipping label to send them back. The label was never sent. So I paid shipping to send them back hoping to receive new, undamaged knives. When I got my new package, one knife was still chipped. The new chipped knife has a chip that looks remarkably similar to the old one in both size and location. I give up. I'll use damaged goods because at this point if I have to pay return shipping for a refund, there won't be much actual refund money left. This is ridiculous.

It took about 8 days to receive these throwing knives. I was amazed how smooth they threw! They were very big and heavy, but I liked that. They don't ricochet very far due to there heaviness. The point is very sharp and the sides of the blades weren't and again that's very good! Although the downside is they dent if they hit each other on the blade. But otherwise these throwers are great for the money! Thanks budk!!

Great knives all around I like the weight and feel and you can really see and feel the rotation. One of my favorite things to do. These were great for helping to learn the throwing technique. I will probably be buying another set. A little WD-40 and sharpening goes along way to keeping the steel treated and the knives looking nice

Bought these knives in April to replace my lousy set. Great knives, good balance, very straight, no warps. Best part is that the knife does not flip in mid flight. Only downfall is that they were not at all sharp out of the box, needed outside sharpening. A bit heavy to start but we got used to that with no issues. Overall an awesome set.

Very nice knives! I have broken 2 of my 3 though. They break in half where the holes are if they hit hard enough sideways.

The blades do as they are built to do the only things i found wrong is the handle is curved making it hard to perform a no rotation throw and the sheath could not fit all the blades on its own without some tinkering. All in all i would say your getting your moneys worth with this set. It was even featured in the hit TV series supernatural where it was wielded by a priest if memory serves.

These are good knives. They are 12" long and I really wouldn't go for anything smaller. I think all knives should be modeled after these. They do make alot of noise if you miss the stick. That is the only negative. I will post more once I've used them more and learn to throw them better. thanks
