I really like this one, even compared to many of my differentially hardened swords.

This is a very sturdy blade, nice etch showing off the pattern welding. While hamons may look nice, and offer some performance benefits, modern steel is very tough stuff, and in many ways, a through-hardened blade is a better option. It tends to spring back instead of taking a bend when stressed, and with a simple etch with no fine polish to maintain, you don't worry so much about scratching the blade. The geometry is very good on mine as well, very precise angles that catch the eye. It's got a shorter grip than most of these swords, closer to traditional. Yes, it's got sightly less leverage, but shorter grips feel better to me despite my 6' height in general, raw cutting power shouldn't be the only priority in grip design. 10.5" is plenty. It moves better this size, and feels correct with less space between the hands. The antiqued look to the brass furniture is nice, needs no maintenance, and it's very light, which helps balance how beefy the blade is. The saya is also unique among all my Misha/Musashi swords - it's very closely fitted to the blade, with a very oblong cross section compared to my others. The pictures look similar to mine, but I got mine years ago. I hope it's still like that, as I like the feel, and it's got no wasted space. Overall, it's an especially unusual sword from this collection for many reasons, and one of my favorites even among more expensive items.

Great sword for the price.

I picked up a Musha Sword, mostly for the color. White. I had NO expectations for it. Since I have collection, some ranging in at 1500. This sword surpassed all my ideals for a "cheap" sword!! 1- out of box, it was very sharp! Sadly, I was careless, I was goofing off, slid sword out of scabbard , grabbed sword incorrectly, and was BIT!! Outstanding!! 2- sword is solidly built!! True to description, it is a full tang! Outstanding!! 3- on a test dummy, it cleanly bit into dummy! Blade didnt even get a blemish! I have never heard of Musha. Prior to seeing it in a Kennesaw Magazine. On a whim, I purchased. I am very pleased! First one that was delivered was HORRIBLE. Blade was damaged. Huge chips in blade. Cracks in the blade. Whole sword rattled. Scabbard had several dents, chips and cracks. Kennesaw had NO ISSUES honoring the replacement deal. Since, I purchased the first one, I have purchased 3 more! All Musha. Way to go!! Love your weapons Musha!!

Incredible Weapon

I got this sword a while back, and forgot to write a review. It's balance is impeccable. I'm yet to hold a blade as nice as this one. It's shimmering blade glides through obstacles as if nothing was there. Be careful and understand its limitations. It's just a sword. It's not invincible. Although you'll feel invincible while holding it. Definitely a wonderful purchase.

wow!!

Just received this product and I have to say, it's beautiful! Just what I wanted. Real quality steel, sharp out of the box. Nice brass hardware, and great finish on the scabbord. It came with a beautiful storage box, as well as a cleaning kit. I'm impressed with what u get for the money. Great job trueswords!!

Outstanding Blade

Just received my sword, which took 8 days to arrive. Removing the plastic wrap from the blade, by pulling it very slightly against the sharp edge, it almost fell off the blade! Looking intently down the length of the blade, there were absolutely no ripples in it. Straight! The damascus pattern is beautiful. I am not an expert on scabbard fit, so no opinion. Everything was nicely finished, with one minor problem, a very small pea sized smudge of glue or something on the outside of the presentation case.

Great however

Purchased and love the sword. However, The scabbard doesn't fit well at all, and the sword falls out easily just with gravity. Major disappointment. My advise is for the manufacturer to put more then 3 minutes of time to make sure the scabbard fits and holds the sword well for a long time and not just barely!

I have had this sword for four days now and i am very pleased. This is a very nice sword for the price, it arrived in a timely manor (five days) The blade is sturdy, the grip is very tight. A complaint i had was the blade seemed to be stained or looked "dirty" some steel wool got rid of most of it but it is hardly noticeable and didn't take away from the quality of the sword. The edge is not razor sharp but it can cut. about five minutes with a wet stone made it extremely sharp. the saya (sheath or scabbard) is tight and when held upside down the sword does not fall out, but it is also not difficult to pull out yourself. the blade flexes and has not bent for me yet. i would recommend this sword to anyone who wants a functional and beautiful piece.

Just received my Musha Sharp Damascus. Payed for three day shipping but it took four days (UPS blew scheduled delivery date); received undamaged. Comes in a nice light wooden box covered in tasteful black silk with embroidered red flower and vine motif. Katana shows very good overall workmanship and is quite attractive. The damascus pattern is subtle and you need good light at the correct angle to really appreciate it. Blade was true, with very nice medium low polish and had no significant blemishes. Koshirae is very nice and shows good attention to detail. Compared to my Musashi Best katana it feels heavier and not as quick. Tsuka is a little shorter than the Best and I would prefer it a little longer especially with the extra weight. Had a good sharp edge that can cut paper if you use good technique; once again it did not come quite as sharp as my Musashi Best. Hang tag that came with the katana states it is made from 1045 carbon. I knew it wasn't going to have as hard an edge from the 55 HRC rating shown at the True Sword web site. Blade has mono-hardness with no hamon. I was able to make many nice clean cuts on a single water-filled milk jug. However I had trouble with a hard plastic Planter's peanut bottle. In fact, it slightly dented the edge (might have been a result of less than perfect technique). This cleaned up very quickly with a Smith fine diamond hand hone. One thing I find disturbing is that the hang tag refers to the Musha line as for "the budget minded" but in "the same spirit as our Musashi line". This sword cost almost twice as much as my Musashi Best! I was under the impression Musha was just a name change from Musashi, not a "budget" line. Overall I'd probably buy again because of the excellent esthetics and because I think it will be a fine cutting sword on less hard material.

Unbelievably sharp sword. This is my first sword. I have been looking at different swords for about 6 months trying to get educated about them and when I came across this one all of the reviews were great so I purchased it. First I was surprised by how fast it came in (just three days)and then by how sharp it was straight out the box. I made a video to show my sons and they were blown away it cut paper like a treet razor blade. I haven't used it on anything yet I hope it holds up like the other reviews said. But so far it is everything I could ask for and more and the price was right on basically I feel like I got much more quality than the price I paid for it.

Real nice sword. It was a tad heavier than I expected (mostly because before this I only had stainless steel) and the design you can actually feel so it is true with the lairs. If the design was painted on you wouldnt be able to feel the lairs which makes me confident this was a good buy. This sword is also razor sharp. I ran my fingers along the blade to see how sharp it was and I barely even wanted to have a light touch on the blade because it felt like if I put any weight on the blade it would slice my finger off. Awesome sword. Ranks 2 on my most favorite list. Number 1 is the Shinwa Damascus Double Edge Dragon Ninja Katana Black. It has nice design and has a nice double edge on it and is also razor sharp and a tad more weight. If you like this sword you will love the shinwa damascus.

First of all this sword is razor sharp, I have no idea why a person posted at the bottom that it comes dull. It shaves paper, I ran it down my leg and my shin is bald, granted I always hone my blades just a little to bring out that razor sharpness, but I made maybe 5 passes with my accusharp and it's crazy sharp now but it WILL shave paper out of the box.

I wish I knew what type of steel it is, other than folded Damascus, I read somewhere it was 1055 carbon? Not sure. At any rate, I tried bending it (within reason) it doesn't take a set, it just bends back. The fittings are high quality, most swords under 300 use those ugly cog-like spacers, not this sword, it uses high quality fittings, comparable to my best sword, which is my Ronin Katana. The blade itself is beautiful, as I said comes sharp. The saya (scabbard) feels for some reason higher quality than normal.

The tsuka is wrapped in black cotton, but it doesn't feel like cheap shoestring like other swords. Real rayskin bamboo pegs. A hardwood storage box (higher quality than my cheness Kaze came in). This sword is extremely tight, there is no rattle, no movement, just straight business, even the cotton wrapped handle feels like it's wrapped tighter than normal, which is good.

My only complaint about this Katana, and it's mainly just me being picky...it has "china" stamped on the lower part of the blade, from an aesthetic point of view this just ruins it, sure I plan to get some polish and clean off the stamp, but I don't know why they do this. We all know that ANY katana bought outside of Japan is going to be made in China, there's no need in stamping it on the blade of a sword this nice. That and it has "Musha" branded on the hilt.

However don't let this sway you, this is the 2nd best Katana I've bought on trueswords, the number one being the cold steel warrior katana. All around, this is my favorite Katana at present.

Is a good sword, so beautifull, and it has beauty sharpnees,
very sharpness. I had cut a paper and I'm convinced.
Only one default, when I was proving the shar edge and the hardness, the sword had bent , but I grip of the curved part and then straighten. I don't know if it is good but any way a beatifull sword

Sword arrived rapidly. Blade was covered in shipping oil and reasonably sharp. While the steel was dark, the damascus "pattern" was not as pronounced as in the pictures. The blade and all its fittings seemed of high quality. When I finally got it outside to do some chopping - it sliced milk jugs into little slivers effortlessly. This is my first sword and I am totally pleased with my purchase.

This is my first Katana. It is a beautiful sword. The Damascus steel is wonderful. The striation is not uniform and I did not expect it to be. The sword itself came out of the box very sharp. I can't wait to clean it and find a place to display it. On the company side the delivery was fast and very professional. Good company. Hopefully, I never have a reason to need their customer service.

This is an awesome sword. I have purchased four others and this is the only one I have gotten from the site that whistles when a perfect cut is made through the air. It went through the shipping box like a hot knife through butter. All in all this is a great sword. I am really impressed with the damascus marking in the blade.
