"Product clearly states 44and1/8 overall length if everyone would finish reading before they buy nobody would be crying. Picture even shows guy holding butt of spear in right palm. That is a short spear. Exactly the one everyone got, short spear for good balance."

Spear Handle Length

"The spear head is fine, but I had to make my own handle. The one that comes with it is too short. And just a note: the guy dressed in all black is un -realistic. No one wears all that crap unless they are urban SWAT. Why is he parading around like that ? No doubt he is sweating bullets. FYI"

Only one thing I'd do differently

"I would have given it 5 staers but the Handle needs to be at least 60 inches long"

Great product!

"I just got my M48 Talon Survival Spear today via UPS. It came very fast and I have to say I am impressed! It is Very sturdy & has a thick razor sharp blade. People have had problems with the size but I think it is great & would be more effective for tactical use. I now own 3 M48 products and I am very pleased with them all and I plan to get more. These are great tools/weapons and a perfect addition to ones bug-out-bag!"

Weight.

"I have to say It works well for stabbing and piercing, but nor for prying or throwing. I wish the shaft was metal, it's not heavy enough to have a good straight arc when I'm throwing. Maybe I'm just used to having something heavier..."

spear

"Great spear to have. i agree it isnt as long as most of us had expecter, and the sheath takes a bit of getting used to to get off. BUT it is a great piece to have, handles most cases...brought it out to the woods along with my black legion camping hatchet(also a really reliable piece) and took down a tree about 8-9 inches thick (mainly with the axe not so much the spear) but i had thrown it into quite a few trees, even some traffic cones. great item overall and worth the 70$"

M48 Spear by United

"Top quality short spear. Great for protection against animals such as dogs and forest critters. Great for survival spearing fish is creeks and shallow rivers. It's light, strong, and easy to use. Spear head is sharp and heavy duty and the shaft is very durable. Over all an excellent tool/weapon."

Richard S. (5/5)

Too short

"Definitely too short for a guy my size (6', 220lb); recommend different lengths to accommodate different people. Very well made weapon, overall. A permanent part of my SHTF bag."

Tim (5/5)

needs to be about a foot longer

"this is an awesome spear i just wish it was about a foot longer then and only then will you have the perfect spear, thats the only flaw i can point out, everything else about this spear is awesome, if you offered an extension that could be bolted on or a sleeve that is made out of the same material that could be connected somehow that would add another foot or 2, i would pay for that option, if you guys dont come up with something like that, i will"

John (4/5)

Way too short!

"This spear is way to short to be a useful/practical spear. The only thing going for this spear is the actual spear head. The spear head is very well made and super thick. The spear shaft is not even close to being strait, so this will not throw well. I am 5' 8" tall and this spear is still too small for me to use as a walking stick/cane. If your buying this for that purpose, look elsewhere, this m48 spear will only work as a walking stick/cane if your a hobbit! I bought it for that purpose and now it will sit on the wall!"
