Received this today. It is a good value for the price. Mine came sharp. Everything fits nice and tight. Beautiful blade. The little knife that comes with it is okay for its purpose. No damage in shipping.

I just got this sword today, and I love everything about it. I was a little worried reading the reviews though, but when I got it all my worries left. The saya fits perfectly, the throwing knife is not loose and will not fall out of the saya. Both the sword and knife are razor sharp. I am very happy with this purchase!

I've had my eye on this blade for awhile and I should of bought it a long time ago. Its perfect razor sharp light weight. Theirs nothing cheap about it. 5 stars

This thing is so amazing. I bought it for my friend's birthday and he loves it. The blade is great, came sharp and oiled. The thrower is pretty cool but the tip bends a little too easy. Overall this sword is great and I recommend this to whoever wants to buy it.

first its very sharp, sturdy, the handle the great, scabbard is nice and strong, the thrower is sharp as well, the things i didnt like was the first time i pull the sword out of the scabbard it was filthy but its a easy clean just wipe it off and when i unboxed it the cotton sword bag was covered in styrofoam...i hate styrofoam...but those two things really arent anything to worry about.<br /><br />oh yeah...it would make a great zombie killing sword<br /><br />so what im trying to say is...BUY IT NOW!!!!
Dec 10, 2010

I recieved this sword several days ago and am extremly impressed, first with the beauty then with its deadly aura (established by a gruesome cut across my thumb). This blade came sharpened, sharp enough to cut through a 3' pine tree (probably larger but i am inexperienced in the ways of the blade). This is my first blade/purchase from true swords and i am very happy to say i will be buying another sword.<br />On the subject of the throwing knife it came as sharp as a butter knife and probably not the best throwing knife, granted i only through it into some jello and a pumpkin.<br />P.S my name isnt Tina thats my mom im just not 18 yet but getting there in a few weeks
Oct 29, 2010

sword just arrived and again i really didnt think it would look and feel this great, its very sharp and the hidden throw fits snug into its slot, but the blade is remarkable, i look foward to my next buy.

As I sit here and try to do a level headed review I still can't help but think OMG! Anyway, I'd like to say right now that this is my first Musashi/Musha brand purchase; and I am impressed to say the least. Now onto the review.<br /> Zetsurin Sword Pros:<br />Full tang, good steel, RAZOR SHARPENED (by hand I might add), fully functional, and also a very nice piece of eye candy. Also this blade has no tsuba which I consider a pro but this is personal preference.<br /> Zetsurin Sword Cons:<br />Blade needs to be wiped down with a soft cloth to get it looking shiny. Somewhat difficult to pull out of the saya at first. The wrap is as some have said similar to shoe string but I don't mind at all. <br />Overall:<br />Other than the minor issues I had it is a beautiful blade and currently the best in my collection. If you like the look and price then simply buy it. As for me, I hope purchase all three styles of this Zetsurin Sword.<br /><br />On another note; the 'thrower' is a nice extra, and it is fairly sharp on arrival (I made it razor sharp), you do not want to throw this (except maybe into cardboard or a ballistics gel torso. The blade is thin and bends easily. It does have a very aesthetically pleasing look to it however. Either way, it is a bonus item so don't let it affect your decision to buy the sword.<br /><br />Thanks Trueswords, not just for your quick shipping, but for providing us with a reliable way to purchase high quality, inexpensive products.

This sword is in a word, incredible<br />tight fit into the saya, incredibly defined hamon. the sword is also EXTREMELY sharp, cutting the box it came into with a single stroke. the thrower leaves a lot to be desired in the practical area . . . . but it looks nice . . . that counts for something. <br /><br />While the thrower is crap, the sword is still incredible, and completely worth the price.

This is my third purchase, and it will NOT be my last. I ordered this sword on the 29th, and got it on the 31st. Again, very fast shipping. Excellent balance, nice weight, perfect condition, nice and sharp, no nicks or anything. A nice cotton bag and beautiful box. The saya is in perfect condition, nice shiny black. The thrower stays firm in place and is pretty pointy and really sticks with not a lot of force. (Depending on what you throw it at) Since there is no guard you have to be careful about it slipping out of your hand. I highly recommend this sword for beginners, novices and any sword collector. It's so frickin' awesome. :D

Can't wait to get it! It will be an awesome sword to my collection! I know the thrower is cheesy, but I will sharpen it. This sword has all my favorite colors.
May 27, 2009

i bought this sword monday it arrived early wednesday morning. for all you sword enthusiest out there this is a must have sword. my sword came with not one defect it was spotless n clean a light caoting of oil, it is perfectly balanced n very sharp, the only thing from making this sword absolutley perfect is that the thrower isnt realy sharp altho it is pointy!<br /><br />i removed it from the box n took it out of the bag n i almost yelld out in amazement i then perceded to turn the box it came in into confettei! i slices threw a bottle of water like it wasnt even there, a gallon jug like it was a asheet of paper, it is not a replica it is a true sword! guess thats why its from trueswords lol but seriously if ur into swords it is a must have! so buy it!!!
Apr 22, 2009

The sword is nice well crafted and sharp. It doesn't weigh much and the sheath is nice as well. the hidden thrower is sharp as well and has a nice feel to it. all in all the sword is great nothing wrong with it that i can see.
Apr 04, 2009

Wow... 5 stars all the way. First off: It came in a beautiful Musashi box. Inside the box was the other folder I bought, but the sword was in a wonderful black bag, and I was in awe as I pulled the sword out of it. The first thing I pulled out was the thrower. It's really thin and wasn't sharp. Nothing more than a little stabber (with suprising penetration power) and letter opener. But, I didn't buy it for the thrower. The sword itself was lightly oiled, which was good. It feels amazing in hand, well balanced, and very sharp out of box. Of course, the first thing I did was destroy the shipping box (not the Musashi box, it looks to good) and it had no problem tearing it to shreds.<br />Overall, well worth the money. Beautiful craftsmanship, strong blade, and wonderful overall sword.
Jan 22, 2009

this a good item.good condition, perfect material itself,19/25 characteristics..no regret..this website ships the item realy fast..
Jan 09, 2009

I purchased this sword based on other reviews I have read.. and I couldn't be happier. The quality is outstanding for the price, out of the box its one of my nicest looking swords. It's extremely sharp, and very easy to use. I would recommend this sword 100%, and the quality and service will make me a regular customer of True Swords.
Oct 05, 2008

I have wanted this sword for a long time, and it is not a disapointment. This is a must have, the blade has some small flaws but for the price it is perfect. Plus I think the thrower is pretty wicked.
Jul 20, 2008

very excited for this purchase from the other reviews i give it a 5 totally siked about getting it! hope the thrower is good!

Beautifully Made. Love The Designs, And The Feeling Is Jus Right. From All The Swords That I Bought From Trueswords This Is The Best By Far In Beauty, Handling, And Price.
Jul 09, 2008

This is a very well made sword for the money. When i recieved it today i was very impressed with the detail in the handle. the blade was very shard, not razor shard but still sharp, the razor part i can fix with no problem. This sword is well balanced and feels great in your hand. it will have an up front location in my collection. Kudo's true swords. i will continue to shop here.
Jul 05, 2008

This is the best sword on this site!!!! Igot this sword just a couple hours ago and already I love this sword. It is razor sharp right out of the box. When I got it I tried to clean off all the oil protecting it with a towel and it sliced right through the towel and gave me a half inch deep slice right in my hand. I was more worried about my blood staining the blade than about my hand. Overall I give this sword a 5/5. BUY YHIS SWORD!!!!
Jul 03, 2008

this is one awsome sword, DO NOT let the price fool you, this is not a cheap wallhanger sword, and it can CUT. the first thing i did was cut the box it came in clear in half, just like the box was nothing but air, its unique in the way that it not having a tsuba. all in all its a great light/medium cutter that looks good doing it. and once again, true swords managed to ship it to me in only 2 days
Jun 29, 2008

This sword is an incredible deal. I was amazed with it's striking hilt and saya the moment I pulled it out of the box. The blade comes pre-oiled and shimmers with beauty. This sword is excellent for any collector. Amazing purchase. <br /><br />The blade comes very sharp, but not quite razor sharp. I did a test on a small piece of bamboo and it cut through it, but not as cleanly as I would have hoped. (It is possible it was just "my" sword though) The throwing dagger is passable. Nice decoration for the scabbard though. Either way. Still an amazing purchase for the price.

Apr 08, 2008

This sword is amazing. It is well balanced, offers an excellent grip, and is beautiful to see. Also, it may have just been me, but the thrower it came with was actually pretty decent. It was a tad flimsy, and difficult to draw, but it WAS sharp. Overall, an excellent buy.
Apr 04, 2008

I just got this sword yesterday and it is the coolest in my collection. Also my first Musashi. The "thrower" isn't what I had expected, but it still is sharp (and I found out the hard way when it fell on my foot). When I say the thrower is sharp, I only mean the tip. The rest is boring and dull. The blade of the katana is razor sharp, and the wrapping is soft on my hands when I swing it around. Not much else I can say, but the decorations on the hilt are pretty cool too.
Apr 01, 2008

I'm glad I bought this sword, but I must address one thing. The blade is more crooked than what I expect from the Musashi line. When you look down the blade from the pommel, it's a little out of line. HOWEVER, I would say that after buying other full tang Musashi's, I believe this is the case for this one sword I recieved, and not all of this particular model. It isn't bad enough to impede function though or be noticable without knowing what to look for, so I won't be sending it back.<br />I love the handle. I read a review where someone said the wrapping was comparable to shoe strings. That may be, but man does it provide a soft, sweat-free grip. Much better than nylon wrapping. I love the sleek, no tsuba look.<br />I think the thrower has gotten a bad wrap in the reviews most likely because it was called a "thrower". You automatically think "weighted, balanced death!" Not the case. I don't think it would throw well, but it is as sharp and tough as any kitchen knife I have. Perfect utility knife for the samurai who travels. Plus, for close quarters combat, think about the look on an opponents face when he goes block the Zetsurin blade, then having the tiny hidden knife shoved into his throat. Not a bad knife when you think about it like that. If you want something to throw, they have stars and spikes all over this site.<br />Overall, besides wishing for a straighter blade (which I really should buy Cold Steel if I'm gonna be that picky about it) I think it is well worth the price.
Mar 15, 2008

This is a badass sword its my new favorite its light weight but strong and the noise it makes when it slices is awesome too
Mar 13, 2008

The only problem with this sword was that the pocket where the hidden thrower is was poorly made. There were lots of air bubbles that made it really rough. The ito seemed dirty, nothing I can't take care of though. As a whole the sword is great and did well in my cutting tests. The light weight feels good and doesn't seem to make it less durable.
Mar 07, 2008

Awsome sword! the blade is very nice, came sharp, and the handle is very pretty.<br />only negitive thing about it is the "thrower" is more decoration than functional, as some other people have said "basicly its a letter opener".
Dec 11, 2007

This sword is awesome. I highly recommend it to any one who wants a bad ass killing device for an extremely good price. Its pretty sharp and was manufactured very well.
Dec 09, 2007

this is probably one of my best swords by far as alway shipping time was excellent I got it in three days, it is a very unique sword I love the no tsuba design the thrower or kozuka as said in other reviews it is a good letter opener and thats it. The blade is very sharp, but unfortuneatly is not razor sharp. the japanese symbols on the fuchi and kashira are realy cool.
Nov 29, 2007

The Zetsurin is an awesome sword for the price. I own a Shirasaya and without a doubt this sword is better mainly due to the grip that you actually have on the handle. You can't really review this sword on not having a guard because it's made not to have one and it's not like the description says it has one. With that said having a wrapped handle on this one is a benefit when it comes to say...doing katas and such. You really don't want a sword to go flying out of your hands while you are swinging it around.<br /><br />As for the thrower...well as one review said mainly just good for a letter opener. It mostly just gets in the way and I leave it out of the sheath.<br /><br />It came with a thick coat of oil on it which is good for storage but a little too much for me so I cleaned it off and oiled it up again to my specifications. Sword came really sharp so it doesn't need that much more of a sharpening unless you really want to.
Nov 12, 2007

The most elegant sword in my collection. Wonderful crastsmenship and it came sharp. It also comes with a sword bag, but whatever you do, do not use it on this sword. Its far too intricate to be covered up. Very well balanced and capable to slice in half the box it came in as soon as you take it out. This is probably the best sword and the best deal on this site. Thank you TrueSwords!
Oct 11, 2007

I just got this sword yesterday. And i have to say, it is the coolest thing i own. The blade is sharp and i accidentally cut myself on it. It's hilt feels very solid to me, unlike many swords i've felt in the past; and it doesnt feel like it's going to break every time you hit something. This sword is not only pretty, but it's deadly, i would not want to be on the wrong end of it. 5/5 stars from me!
Oct 10, 2007

from the reviews this sword sounds awesome, I can't wait for mine to arrive. the thing that really grabbed my attention is the way it looks, its very pleasing to the eye. Another thing is it reminds me of a zanpakuto from anime which I'm a huge fan of. Also its made by musashi which you just can't go wrong with that. as I've said can't wait for this to arrive, and I hope it meets my expectations.
Oct 06, 2007

i just ordered this sword and i cant wait for it to arrive . at first i was debating with myself , should i get renji abarai's unawakened zanpakuto or the zetsurin sword by musashi . to me , they're both very unique swords because , for one , i'm a huge anime fan and renji abarai is one of my favorite characters and second , the zetsurin sword looks like one of the swords i''ve seen on a certain anime . for now i'll give this sword a perfect 5 for being a very unique sword and the fact that its by musashi .
Oct 02, 2007

this sword is awsome! 10/5 stars! it's razor sharp and awsome. i accidently got a small cut on my middle finger when drawing the sword! the thrower is also pretty cool. it looks like a kitchen knife, probably could be one too, excellent purchase, and my first Musashi blade. i recomend this to anyone who loves swords!
Sep 29, 2007

this sword rocks my mom who hates that i collect swords absolutely loves this one. the delivery time is great! razor sharp i have absolutely no complaint about this sword and recommend it to everyone. oh ya did i say this sword rocks.
Sep 28, 2007

I just bought this sword a few minutes ago and it hasn't arrived yet. This is the coolest thing that has ever hapenned to me. When I came to the website I already had in mind what i would want to buy. when I noticed this sword. I had been on the website a few minutes earlier and it had not been there. I decided to look at the details and found that it wass better than the wind dragon. Then when I looked closer I saw that there was a design on the end of the hilt (A.K.A handle) that was the same as a design I had seen on an anime show. But this is no anime sword. I put the pieces together and being the hopelessly superstitious person that I am I decided that God (or japanese anime) was trying to tell me something. So went and bought it. When the sword arrives and I test it I will write another review telling wether a the sword is great, average, or a divine force ( God or the anime) ripped me off. For now I will give it 5 stars for looks, and next time will be an overall score.
Aug 27, 2018

I received my sword a little bit ago 1 hour, no rust good fit in sheath. I bought it on sale for 39.99 and feel it was worth it at that price, it isn't what anyone anywhere would call sharp only because of the point would it pierce the cardboard box it shipped in. Was it worth the price yes it was, it will take sometime to see if it can truly take a razors edge. I feel it was a fair price for what it is and am happy with it.
Sep 20, 2013

4 out of 5 for just a few minor reasons. The saya/sheath isn't made of the sturdiest material and the painted on black finish can chip away. The slot for the hidden thrower doesn't hold the thrower very securely and the painted metal around the hilt of the handle is pretty poorly done.<br />I received the $59.99 redwood shirasaya in a surprise bag and it seem to me to be much better craftsmanship for the extra $5. The best part of this sword, the only good part at least, is the steel of the blade and how strong it feels in your hand. It isn't super heavy either which is definitely a plus.<br />If you want a sword to play with that wont fall apart on you then I recommend this product but if you want a piece of art to impress people with you're probably going to need to spend a lot more.
May 01, 2013

This sword is great. I just got it the first of May and it is very sturdy. The wrapping is tight and the blade is sharp. The only down side i found is when used against another sword it's sharpened end will give but what do you expect? it's SHARP and that the oil was a little smugged at the base. Still VERY WORTH THE MONEY
Oct 09, 2012

awesome sword the only thing about it that could be better is if it would fit tightly in its case it slides out to easily and the throwing knife falls out to sometimes if your not care full on how your holding it but besides that great sword came sharp and ready to go this was my second buy from here and again i was not disappointed!
Mar 17, 2010

Dec 29, 2009

this sword is very great, sharp edge, nice hamon, and all the crap like that. A few problems though, well as the ray skin is fake, it doesn't even go around the whole handle, (yes i inspected) also the thrower is crap, the actual thing is good except that the "sheath" for it is fashoned for the thrower to be upsidedown, the thrower barely stays in too, i recived it and was taking it out of the sword bag when it droped from the scabbard and stabbed by hand. the sword is also loose in the scabbard but all in all its good. I do have a weak spot for any nice blade, therefore i give it a four.
Jan 14, 2008

a great choice for any buyer. the thrower sucks but is individual. blade is lovable and amazing. here are the four factors.<br />1. Sharp-yes<br />2. Quality Metal- yes<br />3. Durable/long lasting- yes<br />4. Creativity- yes (thrower and handle design)
Nov 16, 2007

well boys this is my first sword. i looked on the net for days looking for an afforadable sharp sword. this one has impressed me so far. right out of the box i threw the box in the air and sliced it in half very cool. the thrower sucks but makes a great letter opener. i showed it off at my dojo, the master was impressed. we'll see how it holds up against some real cutting <br /> for now 4 stars<br />if it makes a good light cutter then a for sure 5 stars very pleased
Oct 19, 2009

This was a nice sword for the money... doesn't come razor sharp as stated in description. Blade is flexible and ready to use. I sliced a Orange reflective barrell up pretty nice. Gave me some difficulty but over all very nice. The thrower is flimsy but to be expected. I like the fact that it has no tsuba. Good buy if using for light cutting. If cutting heavy material/items the blade with flex and bend.
Nov 27, 2007

Not a bad sword, though not as great as the reviews would say.<br /><br />Pro's:<br />-The delivery time was excellent, I received mine within the week I purchased it.<br />-It does come very sharp, and so far hasn't deteriorated with multiple cutting practices.<br />-The wrapping on the handle came fairly tight.<br />-The bamboo pegs securing the blade to the handle are bamboo, which tends to last longer. The pegs do wiggle a little bit, but it's not a real issue.<br />-It looks pretty out of the box, and the craftsmanship is decent.<br /><br />Con's:<br />-The wrap on the handle is almost identical to shoe string, but you can't expect too much for how much the sword costs.<br />-This is probably apparent in the picture, but never the less, there is no tsuba (handguard). While I don't expect anyone will be fending off blows, the lack of tsuba means that there isn't anything keeping your fingers from the blade as well as anyone else's. Keep a tight grip.<br />-The saya is actually a thin wood veneer covered by about three millimeters of plastic. Not necessarily a bad thing, but something to be aware of.<br />-The sword is held in the saya with a friction lock. Depending on the what you use the sword for, and how often, this might not be a problem, just keep in mind that the friction lock will eventual fail with repeated use.<br />-The thrower is, as Pat P. noted, a good letter opener and nothing more.<br />-The actual blade had a few scuff marks on it, and the hamon (hardening mark caused by tempering, usually faked in cheaper swords) is not very attractive and appears to be grinded, although it well may not be.<br /><br />Overall, it's an cheap, medium quality replacement for the real thing. If you aren't willing to spend the money on a higher quality sword, this is right up your alley.
