Do NOT Buy This!!!

"I had an uncannily similar experience to the previous poster, right down to practically ripping open the box once it arrived, as it was a delayed birthday gift. The excitement faded pretty quickly though from that point on. I have every 'elven' themed sword and scabbard UC has produced, and have been happy with every one of them. Until now. This one is a disaster. It feels flimsy and plastic-y, and not even particularly high quality plastic either. The fake metal color does not match the sword's real color, and the fake wood finish is just awful to look at and feel. This scabbard doesn't just add little or no value to the accompanying sword. It adds negative value. It makes a good-looking sword like Orcrist suddenly look trashy. And then, to top it all off, the third time I slid the sword into the sheath, to demonstrate to some family members, *CRACK*, and a large plastic chunk of the scabbard broke off and fell to the floor. That was it. Back in the box it goes, and an email with an attached photo have already been sent to the seller asking for a refund. What a pain. What a waste. And *what* was UC thinking letting this item see the light of day? Strongest possible un-recommendation. -K"

Not the Best

"Nice concept, but kind of cheaply made. The "wood" panel is the most disappointing part, it is just printed plastic, maybe vinyl. Even the "Metal" parts aren't really metal, although it is a good simulation. I think this is what we can expect as more "Hobbit" collectibles become available. Still it is pretty."
