Lets get straight to the point, this is a great sword for what it is worth, keep in mind this is a replica or display piece not meant for stabbing or slashing things. The sword itself feels firm when you're holding or swinging it, it looks nice and clean, the blade is dull and cannot cu,t but the tip is quite sharp and will cut if you run it through something hard enough. A couple of cons is when ever you pull the sword out of its sheath, the sawdust always sticks to the blade. not a big deal but annoying at the very least. Also this blade is bendable, i stabbed and slashed the sword through an old mattress and while it did cut, the blade was bent afterwards, so if you don't want a bent blade don't swing it at things. bending the sword back into place is relatively easy and you won't even notice it bent in the first place. The wooden sheath can be very easily dented, although its not very noticeable unless your looking right at it. Paint towards the bottom of the sheath and where the sword opens sometimes rubs off but that can also be fixed with some black paint, and if you don't have black paint Sharpie is also a good option. The sword is nice and fun to have and I'm pretty satisfied with it. (shipping may take a while if its not an express order)

Good Inexpensive ninja sword Reviewed by Will on Oct 18, 2015   4 out of 5

I bought two of these for a friend who thought they wanted them, but refused them when they arrived and saw they are rectangular in cross section, instead of a round cross section, as we were both expecting, neither of us having looked closely enough at the picture. They both measure 39 1/4 inches long in the scabbard, and 36 1/4 inches long without the scabbard. A nice length, though an inch shy of the catalog description. They measure roughly an inch by an inch and a half in cross section, nice and even, well rounded edges, and painted a dangerously pleasing flat black color, so it will be nearly invisible in the dark. The long full length shallow groove on each side keeps it from looking like a piece of lumber. The 27 inch blade seems to be a strong, very slightly flexible steel almost 4mm thick (the description says 440 stainless, and I have no reason to doubt it). I am particularly fond of stainless steel in sword blades, as they last so well for so long (even centuries). In addition this blade has a nice wave pattern hamon (temper line), which is fake of course, and would unfortunately be nearly ground away if you give it the fine edge a ninja sword deserves. However, if you don't have access to the proper power equipment, it would take many hours of work by hand to give it a fine edge, and you may not want to bother. According to my little rare earth magnet, the tang goes about half way into the handle and so far seems very firm. I have only whacked and stabbed a big cardboard box, and not given it any kind of torture test yet. Should the blade ever get loose, I intend to drill through both the handle and tang and insert a peg (mekugi) to fasten it firmly in the time honored way. I find the tip of a bamboo chopstick makes a cheap strong mekugi. Though these swords have no visible closure, the friction is exactly right on both of them to allow for instant drawing, yet tight enough so they don't fall out of the scabbard when you leap from roof to roof and down into the occasional courtyard. At first I was annoyed with being stuck with them, but they are growing on me and I am comfortable adding them to my collection. They are good for the price, and if you want to do the work of sharpening and drilling, you could end up with a really deadly ninja sword, especially if you don't mind its unusual "flat stick" shape, which no one would ever guess contained a weapon.

I did not like the fact that my sword can bend so easily and now it is not straight but the sword does look nice before I realized it was so bendable

just got the sword yesterday. It looks good and is just what i was looking for the only problem i have is i can't even use it as a display piece which is what its supposed to be good for. I knew it wasn't sturdy and not meant to be a play thing before i bought it but, this thing is really bent like when i put the blade in the sheath instead of that flat black rectangular shape i get like a 30 degree angle right at the handle. looks like a toy car ramp. if it wasn't for that bend i would of been really happy with this but hey it was like $20 so i guess you get what you pay for.

So I got the sword today. Great sword. Matches the anime one that sasuke uses. I thought it was gonna be a fake price of trash honestly but I swung it around to test the dutablity and the blade will start to come out of the handle kilometers at a time but that can easily be fixed by putting the blade on the carpet and hammerfisting firmly.not hard. On the handle back into the handle with some super glue or cement glue. Anyway it was definitely worth 22 and it is a great display item and will go great with any sasuke costume.
