I did buy this from true swords here. The price is what hooked me. I am very happy I bought it my friends and I love the handle-grip. But it is true my sword did rip though the sheath, but that also shows how sharp it is. All in all I would buy it again.

I was disappointed. I didn't like the edge the sword came with. But with my stones, I fear the sword and so do my friends. I got it so sharp I slice through 2-liters filled with water, effortlessly. I recommend it to anyone who wants to buy, it's worth the $21.

Amazing sword! Looks great! Feels nice in your hands! Handle wrapped nice! Tested it on a liter bottle of water and it does the same thing as those other ninja and samurai swords that cost $100. Buy two! I will!

This is honestly the best deal you can get it cuts tree branches like butter and just this morning I missed my target and hit my metal gate it left a nice sized slice in it but there is no sign of the hit on the blade.

I have put this thing through a battery of tests, from beheading fish to clearing brush and it never disappoints. A definite if you want an effective, versatile machete.

Incredible sword. I used it to hack up some fresh meat the other day and it worked like a charm, although it was a little hard to pull out. The serrated edge is great for sawing through thick bones. You should definitely buy this if you are planning to do some hacking and whacking and slashing.

NICE!! well balanced. replaced cheap braided handle. Next person who decides to enter my house to steal my goods will experience first hand how well made it is. Was actually burglarized two days prior to arriving. Should have ordered two days sooner for home protection

I just got this sword and it amazed me right out of the box. Its incredibly light weight. All it needs a little sharpening and its perfect.

Ok. So I ordered this from true swords two days ago. Their shipping is very precise (although the box was damaged just a bit). For some reason, I forgot what I ordered so the package was a surprise.

Review: This sword is totally awesome! It looks super fearsome and when it is swung, it makes such a cool "swishing" sound.

My only problem with it was that it is 440 stainless, which I hear is somewhat weak metal and I tested it by hitting one of my tensa zangetsu (another order from true swords. AMAZING!) against it at the bottom. It dented a bit but not as much as Zangetsu did. So I don't plan on using this for fighting metal on metal. Probably just to cut tree limbs off and stuff.

Overall: This is quite a buy and it is definitely worth the $10.00 plus shipping.

For the money, these are amazing swords. I purchased a pair of them and have been absolutely blown away by their ability to hold an edge and take substantial abuse. After a bit of sharpening, my friends and I were swinging them through jugs of water without even feeling the impact: the top halves of the jugs just fell straight down into the bottoms. Overall, fantastic work, Trueswords. If you're debating purchasing these or not, just buy one. It's ten bucks, and it may turn out to be the best ten dollars you've ever spent.

awesome sword. I got it for christmas and it feels great to hold, easy to swing, and is really light. The only things bad about it are the cord on the handle that slides a bit when swung and the sheath sucks.

When holding this sword, the question of "Who's The Boss" is answered very quickly. This sword is mean as h*** and just by holding it one can feel the tremendous power this sword emulates. This is NOT a toy; ladies and gentlemen, this is a man's weapon. Don't let the amazing price fool you... This sword is crafted finely and has a blunt shrewd feeling to it. Wielding this sword will leave no doubt it anyone's mind that YOU are the boss. Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate materials.

Awesome. Delivered quickly (4 days, not counting Sunday and the Labor Day Monday).
This is basically a glorified (remember, I said "awesome") machete, since it can also double as a survival tool - serrated section on cutting edge, plus blunt serrated area on opposite side make it handy for sawing wood in the field. I DON'T, however, recommend "chopping" with it as any thin material, even stainless steel, could break if used improperly. Get an axe if you need to chop! (You know, the headsmen/executioners of old eventually switched to their iconic axes instead of swords because a sword often required more than one strike to do the job...)

Very lightweight, but not cheaply so AT ALL. Full-tang (meaning one solid piece of metal), as you can see in the picture. It was sharper than I expected, but you should still have at it with a whet stone (which must be oiled) or "V"-shaped carbite sharpening blades to improve the factory edge (NOT the serrations, which are already sharp and would require a different tool).
- A little sidenote: I have never been able to sharpen ANYTHING. I don't know what my problem is, I always failed. But THIS sword (shortsword) began to take a keener edge right away! Haha!

The sheath has a backstrap, which I'm all about (a backstrap system for my katana was among my order...) and it also has the means to hang from a belt. The sheath itself, however, is nylon and it bends when empty on your back making it hard to resheath the blade. If the sheath had been solid, molded plastic or even wood, this would have been perfect. It draws lightning-quick (!), it's just that whole putting it back in while still on your back thing... The nylon sheath IS very well-made, though. Much better than other reviews here had led me to believe.
I also love the corded-wrap on the handle. I have a survival tanto with the same wrap/braid.

All-in-all, I give this 5/5.
Actually, 10/5 since it was only $10!!! Great addition to the 2012 stockpile! Remiscent of "The Book of Eli" weapon Denzel carries. Short (well... not THAT short! 27.5 ") and good for close-quarters.

My first purchase from Trueswords - the first of many!

It was a beautifull sword to add to my collection. But sadly the nylon cord that was wrapped on the handle moves around a bit when swinging. But overall A Very very nice easy to manueverable blade.

I am looking forward to future purchases from True Swords.

I bought this as one of the first swords for my collection, and i was extremely pleased. I've had it for years now and it has yet to show any signs that it isn't brand new. It has a good size, length, and weight to it. I don't use it to clear brush or anything, just to sit in my room and look cool, or maybe kill a scorpion every now and then. Overall one of the best purchases I've made, well worth the cheap price of 13$! I recommend!

Well, At first, there was a bit of a shipping issue (but that was on my part, as I specified the wrong address), So I had to pick it up, via fedex, however, it was shipped extremely fast, and the quality of the blade, was outstanding for the price.

I HIGHLY recommend anyone to get this.

The only downfall, is the sheath, as it's not exactly something you could use to quickly draw it out.

That, and the backstrap is a bit small.

This is my first buy with TrueSwords, and (after i fix my address), it definitely won't be my last!

:)

5/5 !

Okay, so I just got this sword and I have to say it exceeded ever expaectation i have of it. It doesnt move around much in the sheathe like other people have said and the added back strap on the back of the sheathe is a nice added touch but not to useful if you have a large back that it has to stretch across. I've taken this thing out of the sheathe a lot since it got here and the only problem i have is that the sheathe wants to go with it b/c it is pretty flat. But everything else is just right next to perfection. Thank you trueswords and I will definantly be coming back for more 5 outta 5 10 outta 10 however you want to look at it...buy this sword

As soon as I got the sword I was shocked, it was a beautiful buy. It comes pretty sharp and has a great blade length and weight to it. I am extremely satisfied with this sword. I would suggest it to people who like to camp.

This wass my first order from trueswords and I can say for sure I will be buying again. I ordered this and another item on Sunday at 8pm, I got it on Tuesday at 9am. This particular sword is great. It had a few finger print blemishes on the sword, but nothing a clothe couldn't fix in a few seconds of rubbing. The edge itself was not sharpened, but thats ok cause the point and the jagged edges were all very "pointy". I cut my finger on the tip when I poked it. I wish the sheath wasn't nylon though. I tore through part of it when I first got it. While I said the edge wasn't sharpened, it still had enough to it that it cut through.
Other than the finger prints and the sheath though, this sword is amazing. I would recommend this to any person with mild experiance and the price is great! Payed much less than it should be worth.

Coolest sword i've ever purchased. Looks great and for the price you better believe its gonna get some action. I love me a good deal and 10 bucks is a steal. It didn't seem too resilient. i see it breaking if I slash incorrectly. If True Swords takes requests I say make this knarley piece in 1060 like their better blades and I'd be first in line, make that twice.

Just received this sword as my test order with True Swords. It's just what I expected. Good balance, not knicked or warped, sharp enough and tight wrap on the handle. It's a good multi-functional piece. I will be a frequent customer of this company. I highly recommend this piece.

This blade was precisely what I expected for ten dollars or so.
I'd estimate it's overall weight to be about 20 ounces, and it came with a machete' type edge that I was able to turn quite sharp using careful strokes with a flat file to get the right angle, progressing to a standard 'Smiths Knife And Tool Sharpener', and then finishing off with a standard Chefs steel.
This is stainless steel, so you're not gonna screw it up with a grinder, either, as temper isn't an issue.
Me, I just like to work things by hand so that I can visually check my progress and be able to feel the developing edge as well.
The serrated edge section toward the handle of the blade was actually decent, and all I did was take a few burrs off that configuration with careful strokes from the Chefs steel.

The sheath is just a piece meant to keep the blade at your side. I tend to slip a long blade scabbard through my belt at an angle that provides balanced carry and easy draw, so I could care less about high quality in that department.

As a thrusting and slashing tool, this blade is efficient.
It is NOT a sword, and really not quite a machete'.
If you think of it as a rather large piece of cutlery that is surprisingly easy to wield, you wont be far off the mark.

The nylon braid that serves as a grip surface on the handle can be pulled back tight toward the butt of the handle and a bead of liquid super glue applied at the beginning of the wrap (toward the blade tip) will keep it tight.

Again...this is NOT a sword or a machete' and don't even think about cleaving through anything more than brush, or in a self defence scenario doing much more than highly effective thrusts and some damaging slashes...with relative ease of handling.

For the price, you've basically purchased a piece of stainless steel stock that someone has been kind enough to shape for you and give you something to encase it in.
That's all I wanted, that's all I expected, and that's what I got.

Any good machete' is gonna be something like 'Cold Steel' quality and will easily run half a hundred, or more.
(worth every dollar)
And any decent full tang beginners long blade is gonna start close to a hundred dollars, with the more you are willing to pay after that...being an assurance of comparative quality, dollar for dollar...providing that you take care to buy from a reputable blade company.

True Swords, in my opinion, will put steel in your hand (quickly... in most cases) with quality matching the price.
Am I pleased with my purchase?
Indeed. Stainless steel stock is NOT cheap.
Shaped stainless steel stock, with a workable handle, and a sheath to carry it in...is a very good deal at 9.99 plus.

I LOVE IT. there is no dulling the blade on it unless i use it and i don't plan on killing a man so i leave it as is. but the look and feel i get while holding it i could only imagine what it could be used for. and how it would be used. i just love it. i have used it to cut things to show my friends how sharp it is and that it can rip and cut if they were to be stabbed by it. i just love the sword nice buy.

When I pulled this out I instantly fell in love with this sword. It is a great buy and anyone considering it should not hesitate.
Cons:
Doesn't say the type of steel used in production.
The strap is very cheap.
The nylon cord on the handle isn't very tight.
Pros:
The blade is sharpened fairly well.
The steel doesn't seem too brittle or springy.
The sheath is also fairly nice.
The black paintjob makes the blade very sleek.
The steel isn't thin and flimsy.

Overall I'm really happy with this sword (especially since this is my first purchase from Trueswords, and won't be my last) and if any of you reading this are thinking about it, then buy it; you won't be dissapointed.

This sword is lightning quick due to how light it is. It is not a very long sword but it looks hella kewl. The sheath sux because, it gets stuck when your trying to put it in there. also, the sheath had mold or something when I got it. but, I'm totally happy with the sword and it was a good deal. BUY THIS SWORD!!!!!!

Basically just mix 300 with ninjas and you get this bad ass sword. The strap needs to be solid though not the flimsy cotton. I customized the stap anyway so it doesn't matter. Thanks Trueswords!

True Swords definitely has a new fan, I finally got some free time to write my review on this full tang Secret Agent sword.

First off, let me just say this is a beautiful sword. I know that saying "you get what you pay for" but not in this case. For $11.99 this sword was a steal! I would have paid more, this thing is great! Understandibly it wasn't that sharp right out of the package but I took care of that real quick, now this thing will slice through just about anything. It arrived 2 days after I ordered it and I must admit I've already murdered several cantalopes and a small watermelon! I was surprised at how light this sword was also. The braided handle is excellent, quite comfortable too. And this thing is sturdy, I definitely like how tough this sword looks and feels.

The only real problem I can forsee is the case it comes with, I just know sooner or later I'm gonna slice right through that thing sheathing my sword if I'm not careful about it. However while it's still in tact I must say it does fit comfortably while strapped to my back.

For anybody still on the fence about buying this, I say buy it! It's a great deal for a solid product. True Swords, I will definitely be doing more business with you soon!

This is review #2 from me. I purchased this sword some weeks ago so I have had the chance to test it fully.

First Test - Delivery
The sword was delivered two days after I ordered it, along with two other items. When I took the sword out I noticed that there was some residue on the blade, but was otherwise great. The residue came off with a damp rag quite easily. The blade was barely sharp, but my whetstone took care of that easily.

Second test - Practicality in carrying.
This sword has at least 2 places where one can carry it and unsheath it quickly from. The first place is on the back with the handle coming up over the shoulder at an angle. The problem with this though is that the top part of the sheath sticks up and it's really ugly looking that way. The second is on the back with the handle near your side. This particular method is great for using with backhand sword styles. The velcro strap is great at holding the sword in place so you dont need to worry about the sword falling out.
The one major thing you have to worry about is putting the sword in at an angle and cutting open the side of the sheath, which is nearly guaranteed, but this can be remedied with glue, or a needle and thread, or even duct tape for you duct tape fanatics.

Third test - Maneuverbility
Yes, this sword is smaller than I expected, but it was also much lighter, and the handle was alot more comfortable than I expected as well. I found that it was extremely easy to use in both regular and backhand styles. The sword has great directionality as well as great speed.

Fourth test - The mighty battle against a tree
It was me, versus the tree that injured my cat... Ever since that one day I vowed to take my revenge against the tree. And so I did. I started off with the small branches, sliced off without a problem. Then I moved to some more medium sized branches, 1-3 inches thick, they took between 2-5 hacks to get through. Then on the stronger branches 3-6 inches, they took even more hacks, but still went through. Anything bigger than that and it took too many hacks to matter, might as well to take an axe to it. Damage to the blade : None

Fifth Test - Sword to sword
This test was against a $25 katana, steel is for nothing more than display. It's not hardened, not even stainless. The steel isn't worth it's weight. I started off by taking the blade out of this no tang katana, because if I would have had someone hold it while I hit it, that katana would have broken. So with the katana blade in a vice grip, I swung this sword at the katana with gradually increasing force.
10% force - Slight nick in the katana, no damage to this sword
25% force - Slightly bigger nick in the katana, still no damage to this sword
50% force - an irrepairible nick in the katana at least 2.5 millimeters deep, no damage to this sword
75% force - a deep irrepairible nick about 3.5 or 4 millimeters deep in the katana, only slight cosmetic damage to this sword
100% force - a huge irrepairible nick almost 1/2 of the way through the katana's blade. Somewhat noticeable cosmetic damage to this sword, mainly since I had to force it out of the other sword.

Overall -
This sword is pure awesome. If it were up to me to sell this sword, given these test results, I would be selling this sword for $30+. But trueswords.com has really given us a great deal by offering this AWESOME sword for $12. I have one collection of swords that only boasts swords that cost less that $30, and this is easily the top dog of them, not to mention that it even bests some of the swords in my $30-$100 range.
Go on ebay, sell one old thing that you have that you dont want anymore for $12 because if you have any interest for swords at all, you have to have this sword.

My overall rating is 6 out of 5, I give this sword a standing ovation. Thank you Trueswords.com for supplying this awesome fulltang sword for the cheapest price I've ever seen any sword.

only complaint i have is no true swordsmen would use a nylon sheath sword are meant to be in scapboard but otherwise in my first strike as a test of the blade i cut the shipping box it came in clean in two suprisingly sharp for a cheap sword im loving it already if it had a better form of holder it would be a 5 star item

Got the sword, knew it was the sickest looking sword ever, but it was also the worst quality, dull, and flimsiest sword I'd ever seen. I totally recommend this product as a wall ornament and for the GREAT price, but never to anyone who wants to be rough with it.

This is the sickest looking cheapest sword you'll ever find. All my friends LOVE it. This is the worst quality blade though that I've ever seen. It's sooooo flimsy and dull when I got it. Of coarse I sharpened it so you could actually consider it as a real sword.

well what can i say this was a pretty awesome sword!!! this was my first ever sword at the time i bought 2 swords so i could have twice the awesomeness. mine didn't come with a very very sharp edge but enough to cut some trees about 3 and a half inches around. the sheath comes undone easily and they bend at the tips quite easily but otherwise you cant beat the price!!! i am always customer!!!:)

Not Bad not the greatest either the length is about as big as a typical machette, which is not bad, but smaller than I thought, as for the sheath it is pretty bad it had a hole in it when I took it out of the box luckly I don't buy swords for there sheaths anyway not the worst the blade looks awsome and you can't complain for the price
