Beautiful and functional

"First of all this is a beautiful blade! Shipped fast and in what I would call an okay faux felt display box. The black Damascus finish is excellent and looks great. It is very lightweight and the paint and lacquer work on the handle and scabbard is excellent. Blade came straight as an arrow no twists or bends or curves only complaint is the blade was sharp but not as sharp as I would like to have seen but it's only a $150 sword so that's to be expected. Overall it is a beautiful functional sword and I would highly recommend this to any collector and or martial artist. I am a martial artist with over 20 years weapons training and these have been my thoughts on it."

Great Deal

"Really nice steel. Great finish on the forge welded Damascus, and the red lacquer on the wood is smooth and flawless. The Shinwa logo is printed on the blade near the handle, that's fine, but "made in China" is printed right underneath. I would like to polish the printing off, however I don't want to remove the black Damascus acid finish."

Elegant design

"Elegant and simple...just what was needed for my collection. The hand feel is pleasantly different from the standard katanas I own. The finish and lacquer work on both the scabbard and handle are excellent. The blade appears to be quite delicate but it tests out quite hard at the edge. I wasn’t sure if I would like the “black” Damascus but it is quite a nice contrast with the amber layers, Snow White and deep solid black of the furniture. It arrived in a simple drawstring bag and satin box. The box itself left a bit to be desired but it wasn’t terrible either. Overall, at the $99.98 price point it’s a nice buy."

Just got my sword, will

"Just got my sword, will have to say I was doubtful at first, after reading comments about other scarletfangs. After opening the box I was surprised. The sword came in a red box embellished with dragons and was two tone red it might be silk, with two latches. The sword was in a black cotton sleeve with a tie at the top. Once I removed the sword, low and behold, it has a nice red lacquered finish wit no dings or scratches. After pulled the sword from its saya, I was even more pleased the blade was not bent or chipped just a little dirty. Am waiting now for the cleaning kit to come in. I will be ordering from true swords again."

"Love this sword! The finish on this Damascus steel is amazing. Everyone I showed this sword to was in awe of the color of the blade. The shipping was excellent, it actually came into a day early too. It was sharp but I had it sharpened by an expert, and very little of the finish came off of it but that was expected. I recommend trueswords to anyone collecting swords/weapons in general."

"True swords has been very good to me. I have been a returning customer for around 10 years now and have never been dissapointed. With true swords you get exactly what you see. Now on to the sword itself. It is a wonderful blade and is sharp on 1 and 3/4 sides of the blade. It is sturdy and IS made of folded steel. It came in sharp but needs to be sharpened to get thay razor edge. It IS a full size Japanese sword means about an 11 inch handle. My sword came in a little bent from the timpering process but thats hardly noticable. ~N.A. Bartchlett~ Ps. The TS app is really convenient"

Good sword

"Got the sword came with a nice edge on it. I had left a comment on it but I'm not seeing it. The sword is printed I learned this when I accidentally scratched the blade rather than seeing the Damascus pattern I saw plain steel. Other than that it's a keeper."
