It's okay... You're getting what you paid for.

"The blade has an edge, however it has only been sharpened on one side of thr blade. The right side of the blade was honed, the left side of mine is not. Do not expect the sword to come in a silk lined box either; mine was shipped inside a large cardboard box with another smaller cardboard box housing the sword. Combat ready? Not even close. It is an attractive novelty, I will give it that. However as a true katana... ...Not even close. This was my first purchase of a Shinwa brand product and sorry to say, my only purchase of one. I would be upset, however I waste more money impulse shopping at a gas station. I will try a couple of other brands to see if this is all hype or perhaps I will get lucky and find a diamond in the rough. It is pretty balanced, however it rattles. I have no idea if I will be able to put an edge one this one without an angle grinder, however when I do, I will let everyone know how it goes. I doubt that I even attempt to practice with this so called katana. But it is a nice decoration. To the only other reviewer, I am glad yours was sharp... However, if the blade will not shave hair off an arm or leg, it's not sharp!"
