"I bought this as gift not for use though. It was quite striking. I was VERY pleased. It arrived in time I was impressed. I only dont like that they engraved Shinwa and a little dragon on the blade. I wanted to buy a different sword but that had something engraved on it in a different language and I had no idea what it was - wish it was translated :) I loved it. I might get another one :) Thinking about it :)"

Very real, very practical. Great first sword. Average grunt sword basically.

"If you were back in the old days of hand to hand combat, and you suddenly had to put thousands, and thousands of Katana's in soldiers hands-- this is what you would get. It's not ceremonial quality, or even a defined teachers sword, but it's practical and works. Great for student or hobby. It can definitely use a sharpening for sure, and make sure to treat the blade with oil. The Mid-Quality of this steel is not that rust resistant, but very sturdy indeed thanks to folding of steel. Great first sword!!!!"

great sword, I'm satisfied, but...

"Overall, I'm satisfied. Actually hardened steel sword, comes sharp, but needs sharpening. Small flaw in the blade tip from metalworking, and you can see where they grounded it. Quality control seems like it was absent the day mine was made. (Not all are as messy looking as mine, so don't judge til you get yours) beautiful Damascus steel. Not crazy about the "made in china" engraving, but at least it isn't "in your face" beautiful piano black scabbard, 2 peg handle, overall, a great sword."
