Shikoto Black Kogane Dynasty Forged Katana Sword Damascus

Worth every penny, even if it wasn't on sale. 9.8/10 overall I wish it were a leather wrap, but it's easily redone, the pins weren't ground flush, but it's still very comfortable. Weight 10/10

This sword far exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship and weight are impressive. But the balance is what really sold me. I work of art and functional!

I got my firsy dubble cut with this katana,lot of fun to cut mats with.The fittings are all stil tight,the tsuka wrap is nice and tights still.would recommend this katana.Ray Blundell

I bought this on the recent closeout and decided to buy a second one. The first one arrived yesterday. What a beautiful sword. It is bigger than most other swords by a couple of inches. Very nice Damascus steel blade and fairly sharp. Well made and tight fitting. My favorite sword now.

I ordered mine and it got here exactly on time. Beautiful sword and I'm very happy with this purchase. Worth the price three fold. Would recomend to purchase for anyone who wants a powerful, usable, and over all wonderful sword.

I bought this on a Closeout sale, but I've gotta say, I would have payed full price easily for this piece after seeing the quality. United Cutlery really doesn't disappoint here: the Damascus-style blade looks fantastic and comes razor sharp, the handle and tsuba are beautifully detailed in rich gold and black, and the scabbard is sturdy wood with a cool design and wrap. I haven't taken it for my usual cutting tests, but I can already tell this one will be a top performer and is easily the best looking katana on my rack. For the price, you really can't do any better. I found absolutely no downsides to this blade, and I highly recommend it. Oh, and thanks to BUDK, it shipped quickly like always.

I've bought quite a few swords from True Swords. Most of them are very good. But this one is definitely a leader of the pack. The blade, the scabbard, the feel of the sword in your hand... I can't believe that a sword this great was being sold for that low of a price.

The over all appearance of this Shikoto Sword is exstreamly nice! All aspects of fit are very good. I bought this Sword because I like the look of Gold on Black as long as it is tastefully done as on this piece. I got it for it's display Quality and it fits that bill completely. Probably the least important part to most is the wooden sheath but it is the most amazing piece of beautifully finished wood on any sword I own! I question the Damascus blade being real only because my Shinwas are all Damascus and are super smooth, no texture can be felt, none should be. I have Hammer forged steel many times and the surface is always beaten absolutely smooth just like the Shinwas! I don't have any idea where the texture would come from during the forging process and believe it was added after forging. Plus the fact that while most blades are ground to final dimensions the surface would again be smooth! Over all a nice sword though, fitting for a spot on my display shelf! If anyone can fill me in on the texture reasoning if there is one I'd be interested in learning about it!

This Katana is far better in my hand, than this photo shows. I very happy with this sword. This Katana I recommend , it is worth the price.

Absolutely breath taking sword. Damascus blade has a really cool greyish color.. almost looks like titanium.. Black wrappings and gold fittings combination looks AWESOME!!.. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!! Highly recommend this swords to anyone who likes quality katanas and a absolute must for lovers of the Black/Gold combination.. Good strong sharp and beautiful sword!!.. BUDK IS THE BEST!!!

What a great all around sword and piece of workmanship . Having bought and collected many type of Japanese swords over the past couple of years. This piece ranks up there with one of the best made and best looking swords in its price range. You can definitely display this sword or go out and use it with confidence it won't let you down either way. I personally display it proudly in my living room

United Black swords are by far the best I've seen in this price range, they are top quality from tip of blade to tang, I disassembled a United sword and two others and showed them to my wife and a friend they were amazed at the difference in the quality. I recommend United swords over all as they compare to any sword that will cost some what more. Lastly the Kanji symbols on the blade says "United Strong Steel". Thank you Daniel of Nebraska.

I already had this sword before I know about Kennesaw, however. this replica is more than worth the money. Good steel, good construction. Very similar to my pre-WW2 authentic officers katana is the duel temper, tighter folds, the gem and the duel temper. The duel temper looks really cool and takes like five minute to do... but he** for a production sword, well worth it. He** beats paying 800+ from that guy in seaside.

Nice quality sword. Only problem is that the handle is not leather wrap like it said in the description. Good price.

Cuts well, I only removed a star because the blade was VERY dirty upon delivery. The blade was nearly black and took a good bit of rubbing alcohol on a cloth to remove. Also, you can't see it well on screen, but part of the saya is brown. Personally, I don't like that - this katana would be my best looking one yet if it wasn't for the offsetting brown design.

I was very pleased with this sword when it arrived based on the fit and finish. After a closer inspection I am even more pleased with this Katana. The Damascus blade is beautiful, not to mention it is very sharp. I was so impressed that I ordered two more for my sons. I would recommend this sword to anyone who appreciates a well made weapon.

First off, the blade is gorgeous and the balace feels great. I've had other damascus swords that feel like you're swinging a sledgehammer, but this feels wonderful. Taken as a whole, the sword is fantastic, but I do have some gripes. The design pitting on the tsuba looks kind of cheap, the blade is sharp, but could be sharper, the wrap is (as mentioned in other reviews) cloth, and not leather and worst of all, the pegs were not ground down sufficiently. On the sword I received, the peg closest to the tsuba protrudes on both sides nearly a centimeter. I'll have to grind it down myself unless I want my hand impaled each time I use this sword. I suppose with a dremmel, it's possible without messing with the handle wrap, but it's a pain in the butt. I'm very pleased with this purchase, but I wish, for the price, they had paid a little more attention to detail.
