Dragon Warrior Samurai Katana With Scabbard

I always read the reviews on all products that interest me first before I make that decision to buy. Not knowing who the maker or brand of this sword made me kinda leery. Was it a product that Budk just wanted to dump or what? I read the reviews and it sounded good for the money. Everything was tight, no rattles, no damage but it could have been a bit sharper for my taste. I would buy it again and I do recommend this no name sword.

This sword was so cheap as to almost be a giveaway, so I bought it not knowing what to expect. I don't even know if it is full tang or rat tail tang or what. Therefore I don't dare go swinging it around for fear that the blade may come lose from the handle. I wish Bud K would specify the nature of the tang as well as who made the sword. The sword itself looks real good and is tight, with no rattles. The edge of the blade is amazing. It is the sharpest blade I have ever seen on anything including razors. If you just look at it you are cut. If you just think about it you may be cut. Astounding sharpness!

A great bargain for the price. I am thoroughly happy with it.

this sword is great. Sharp blade, full tang, and very beautiful. i liked it so much i bought three of these. and had my kids' name put on each one. kind of an heirloom thing. starting one anyway. TS had these swords to me at the same time i ordered another sword two days earlier. talk about lightning fast delivery. highly recommend this sword. it is an outstanding sword for this price. might have to purchase some more of these with the grand kids' names.

Just got this sword it is a great buy nicely polished and very sharp this is a real weapon I am very happy . Ups really let me down they passed it to the post office and I had to pick it up so I paid them for nothing Ups has really gone down hill lately higher priced and slow service or no service . Very impreesed. The blade flexs and returne to true, tight fit in says (no rattling), tight wrap on handle, no loose habaki. The grooves in the blade lighten it considerably. The saya had no cracks, it was sharp all along the edge. Blade is nicely polished for what I would expect in this price range. Fast shipping and it came without any shipping damage. This is a great buy

This sword is very similar in design to ten ryu's dragon release Damascus steel katana in all the fittings. It's been awhile since I've seen the sword (my parents didn't want me hurting myself on it like two years ago, and haven't given it back), but I remember I loved it. Sure, the Hamon is wire-brushed on, but the design just catches my attention and just strikes me as beautiful. Wonderfully cheap too, but remember that it does not come like a true hand-forged katana would. Those pieces of art take over a year to forge properly. Now, the bo-hi is wonderful, but I'd love a sword much like this with a white handle.

This is a follow up review I've had it since Christmas and man this katana is great when I saw it I was expecting it to say musashi but it said mush a wich doesn't really matter I've done kata and some like cutting and no big issues the edge nicked a little and I bent the edge slightlypretty sharp not as sharp as I was hoping for but if your thinking of ordering this price of art go for it you will not be disappointed

Awesome, ordered this for Christmas. Shipping took longer than I expected, but it only took a week to get to Ohio. Sword is beautiful, it comes with a nice sword bag too, couldn't be more satisfied. Got this for Christmas and I can not complain buitiful sword I have had it for a couple days now and I'm in love. I did some cut testing not as sharp as I thought and I bent a small spot and the edge but so far so good the sword is tight a little lose with the second fitting near the blade was tight in the says but after a little time it got lose. I found out Cuz I bent over and it slid out and I cut my finger but I live these katanas and I will always order from here from now on!!! Two thumphs up

This swords is very good. The shipping was one day early. The quality of the blade is very good. It is pretty balanced and feels not to heavy. The sword rattles just a little bit in the scabbard but it is nothing compared to my other one (which rattles louder than a sonic boom). This swords is UNBEATABLE for the price. I am very pleased with my buy, and right before they ran out of stock as well. I was expecting a decent sword, and was surprised to find that I was the brand new owner of a beautiful piece. The weight is perfect, the style is both simple and wonderfully elegant. It is very sturdy and maneuverable, I am overall very pleased with my purchase!

I am convinced the folks at Musashi must have sold their souls to the Samurai Gods...how else can you explain such a fantastic blade for less than half the price of many disappointing wall hangers I've tried and summarily shaped on the first half decent swing...not so with this wonderful beast!! No branch, metal or plastic container, or roll of fabric is safe around here...it all dies swiftly...this is just what I wanted..not some gaudy overtly ornate decoration, but an elegant,practical tool for separating limb from body...on a separate note, True Swords has real, personal, courteous customer service...they are helpful, well informed, and NO AUTOMATED CRAP...a real person answered on the second ring and had all the information I needed without 20 million transfers...Thanx Musashi and thanx True Swords!!!

Have owned this katana for years and it has never failed me its cut threw hundreds of canes and weeds and scrubs I recommend this sword to anyone

This is a follow up to my previous review, and it has been a few days now since I've purchased this sword. I'll keep this short since I've already covered most other aspects. I've done some light cutting with it; a few water filled milk jugs, cardboard boxes, so on and so forth, and it's handled like a treat. Oddly - despite other comments to the contrary - I've not come across any dull points on the sword since my usage of it, but it could just be because I do not have a trained eye for the dull spots on the edge. So the cutting power is good, though the blade isn't as sharp as you'd expect. It could definitely be improved, but it's enough to do it's job. I'd also like to point out that the sword still feels as sturdy as when I had it prestine and unused. The hilt's wrapping hasn't had any tell tale signs of unraveling, the construction overall is still sturdy with no rattling, so on and so forth. I'll end my impressions here. Overall, I think this was a great decision for me as a newbie to the collection community. You've gained my love, True Swords.

Excellent customer service, extremely fast shipping! I did not see the styrofoam looking texture on the handle in the picture so it surprised me when it arrived and I saw that but I think it is still a great blade for the price. The dragon detail looks great, it stays firmly in the scabbard unless I am actually trying to pull it out, it was not quite RAZOR sharp but still sharp and it feels nice and solid. I hope the giftee likes it.

I just opened the box with much excitement and anticipation! What a beautiful sword! Everything is tight, and the sword is very well balanced! great sword for the price! I got the rosewood Shirasaya a while back and expected this to be about the same quality... and it surely is! ^^ the blade is solid and tight. Its not ridiculously sharp but its at least kitchen knife sharp so what more can you ask at that price? the jugs of water I had up were absolutely no match anyways because if theres any resistance at all it still cuts through like butter. ((puts it in perspective how terrifying a real pro, hand honed Katana can be ._.)) It arrived right on time as always, no damage whatsoever so Im happy ^^ this wasn't /exactly/ the katana I wanted, they were out of the one I fancied and Im impatient and since were moving soon I couldn't wait too long to order one. I saw the one I wanted on another site but I couldn't do it. I just love trueswords too darn much and I can't bring myself to go anywhere else now ^^; but nevertheless I LOVE this sword. Musashi/Musha does have some amazing stuff for the prices. And I am very happy with this. only one complaint at all is that the wrapping is in the way of the pegs. and if they get loose or start to crack it'll be a little hard to get to them. but meh. thats a tiny problem anyways, and Ill manage when I need to. its barely worth mentioning actually. i love this katana wonderful grip with a beautiful scabbard the only two problems i had are the blade is not as sharp as i wanted it was still fairly sharp and the weight was a little hefty but a good swinging weight love it.

I ordered this sword thinking it would be dull and it actually has a bit of an edge to it. I am impressed by the way it was made and how fast it was delivered. I will defiantly be doing business with true swords again.

Amazing! It took less than 24 hours for my sword to arrive, I was in complete shock when I got to my house to find this long cardboard shipping box waiting for me. I could not wait to open it. Slowly, I cut the tape securing my new treasure, then, slightly to my surprise I saw Made In China on the end of the box that contained my sword! This did nothing to dampen my spirits!! Then I pulled the sword box out of the shipping one, the smooth matt cardboard box felt nice to the touch. The only perplexing detail was that the box displayed the word Musha. I was expecting Musashi, right? Possibly a derivative. Again, no dampening of my spirits! I open this box......and again I was astonished! This time it was for superb reasons. For my sword was neatly wrapped in a cotton like material bag. Very slim, so it was a good fit. It looked fantastic. My inner child was exhilarated! I am now examining the sword itself, like others have stated in previous reviews the sheath does not like to stay on, but this is really no problem. I have yet to uncover the true nature of the "Full Tang" blade, though the sword itself is sturdy, psychotically sharp, and a fantastic buy! I would recommend this to anyone who wants a sharp deal!

I got this sword in record time and I gotta say that it is a thing of beauty! The blade came razor sharp and ready for action right out of the box! <br />the handle is sturdy and the details are amazing. I swung this sword a couple of time and cut through a water jug like a knife through butter. I would suggest this sword for anyone who appreciates a really good blade.

What you get here i what you pay for, and a little more. you wont get a high en katana for 60 bucks and som quallity will have to go to save the money, BUT i am positivly impressed with the sword, i have more expencive blade who are of less quallity than this. so by all means folks, get yours, you cant regret it for this price

got the swords bout ten mins ago and i have to say.....true swords is right when they say battle ready. this sword when i got it was sturdy strong sharp and you can tell not gunna break anytime soon. i was gunna do a cutting test but it poooooooooooring down rain outside. iwish i could do a cutting test but like i said rain sucks. <br /><br />the sword is very oily and clean and doesnt bend. the quality of the blade is awsome.<br /><br />overall nothing too sayy bout the blade that is bad. will write another review in one week. 5 of 5 starrs!!! gooo true swords!!

This was an amazing sword that i would recommend to anyone. It is incredibly sharp and very well made. Also, the sword locks into the scabbard very well which is great for safety.

excellent sword. not very colorful, but still a nice addition to any collection.

what a great sword! it performs well and holds its edge. had some burs on the blade when i pulled it out of the box but nothing that some sharpening didnt take care of. when i was chopping up some cardboard in my yard i accidentally struck some sheet metal siding, and it barely put a dent in the edge. its a good sword for the price and the handle is very tight, no rattling or anything like that. only downfall is the scabbard gets scratch real easy but if you want a sword for its functionality rather then its aesthetics that shouldnt matter

Very surprised by this sword. For the money great value. Sharp some what well balance. Nice detail's only down fall is there is no Musashi logo as seen in the picture. But I must say for a collector or beginner sword you can't go wrong. Looks great on display with my other custom swords. The fact that its real an battle ready makes for a great piece to show off. Who wants to pick up a cheap replica. True sword's customer service and delivery is out standing. This was my first purchase from them an won't be my last.

This sword is amazing and blade is very thick and very sharp. The weight is also very good. there were only two problems with this sword: first, the hand guard actually is a little loose, but I don't think it will affect what you do with the sword. Also the sword case was made bigger than the actual sword so when you hold the sword blade down the case will fall of the sword. Overall this sword is very, very, very, good quality. You will not want your money back and you will not be disappointed. <br /><br />when you get this sword make sure you clean off the blade because there is grease on it.

This sword wasnt as heavy as i thought it would be.. but close. Its Very sturdy, and worth well beyond $60. I just got this today and I must say I am very impressed! the sword is very sturdy and has good weight when you swing it. it draws very smoothly from the scabbard. the blade didn't have as much grease on it as I thought it would, which was a very nice surprise.<br /><br />This is my first sword, and I am very pleased with it! BUY. This is an excellent sword, far beyond worth what you pay for it, in my opinion. It is very sharp, very authentic, and very, very good, especially to start off a collection with. If you want a good first sword, this is where you start.<br /><br />While the Saya is covered in cheap plastic, I can honestly say I don't care. The inside it wood, and the sword slips out of it so easily that it's almost soundless. You will want to have a soft cloth on you when it comes though, to wipe away the factory grease, which is necessary to keep the blade in good condition when shipped.<br /><br />While it's not the prettiest sword out there, it is low in price and high in quality. One who can see the beauty in its simplicity will truly enjoy this sword.

Very well made and very, very sharp. The scabbard IS a little delicate, but unless you're swinging this around and acting goofy, it should last the life of the sword. It's hard to suppress the desire to go outside in the back yard and see what kind of damage this thing would do to a watermelon. But I have neighbors and I don't want to look crazy! ;-)<br /><br />The ONLY thing I wondered about the sword was the tsuba. If the dragon is supposed to be facing the blade and not my hand, then they got it upside down. The dragon is facing downward, not upward. Oh, well. I don't care, though, it's a gorgeous sword and TOTALLY FREAKING worth the price.

When this sword got here i was extremely happy. first of all i couldn't wait to test it and train with it. The sword is (Razor Sharp) and really durable with its thick blade. I also love the sound it make when it cuts the wind as you slash and swing it. The blade came nicely polished and all, however my only two concerns are the Musashi logo isn't on the blade, and the blade doesn't lock in the way it suppost to. However, in all the blade is perfect for both practice and modeling for display.

This is my first full size katana purchase from true swords and i am thouroughly satisfied. no physical damage. extremely sharp. i chopped up an old couch cushion with it. and it didnt dull at all. i love it.

First week of owning this sword, I practiced on about 15, water filled two-liter bottles...this sword is still as sharp and sturdy as the day I got it. Now it's even got a few battle scars. This sword is an excellet buy. A beautiful weapon, hand sharpened, and i would easily value it over $150. It came a bit over oiled, but other than that, it is an excellent blade worth every cent.

i hope this is a good first sword. I just wanted a beater to get used to the feel of a katana before i buy a better one and this one seems like it. I havent recieved it yet but its on the way and ill report back.

this is my frist buy for myself from true swords and when they say ready to cut right out of the box the mean ready to cut right out of the box. The whole cardbord box was too big to fit in the recycling bin so i cut it down to size literaly. if you are a very good martial artist like my self then listen to when you swing this masterpiece and you will infact hear 2 whistls coming from the sword. looking over it i was a little too over oiled and the tsuba was smaller than expected (thats what she said) but the only really dissappointing thing about the sword is that is dosent reflect light as well as i expected it to. its not a lusterous as i thought carbon steel would be. None the less this sword will be featured in the demonstration i am doing at my school<br />thankyou very much True Swords

beautiful in everyway except wood show on hilt that the wrap didn't cover had that problem with the blood+ blade to, which i managed to cut myself with but not this full tang blade im dissapoint lol but it cuts cardboard better so i don't know

Awesome. You can't beat the price. I cut my thumb when I was examining it. Very clean cut I might add. Beautiful and deadly. The collar was scratched a bit, but in awesome condition none the less.

This is an INCREDIBLE weapon for the value. The surface of the blade was a little over-oiled, and there were some scrapes and scratches around the blade collar, but a wonderful buy none the less.<br /><br />Aside from a little grime and a blemish, the steel was beautiful, especially the grain. With a proper swing, this sword screams threw the air, and I reccomend it HIGHLY for any iaijutsu practitioner on a budget.<br /><br />I cannot get enough of this weapon. I also recommend that you buy a cleaning kit along with this, so it continues to be an excellent sword.

WOW! What an awesome sword! When they say Battle Ready, they mean it. I can't believe the speed of the shipping, I got it less than 4 days after I ordered it! I wasn't sure what to expect considering the low price, but I would easily place this sword's value at $150. Razor sharp, very well made, and very sturdy sword. That's hard to find. I have an "authentic" sword from martial arts, and it's not nearly as nice. Thanks TrueSwords!

Just want to start off by saying that I am a complete newbie when it comes to sword ownership or collecting, so this is just a review for those who are also new themselves just to get an idea of the impressions they may have with this sword. I'd also like to point out that I have NOT used this sword for cutting just yet. I just now got it at the time of writing this, so this is just a First Impression. I picked this sword up after hearing good things from various sources like Sword Buyers Guide and YouTube communities, because it was a good price for a beginner like myself and I didn't feel like I'd be risking much for taking this plunge. I did read the occasional negative comment about the Musashi brand in general, but I decided to bite the bullet. First off; shipping was great and on the dot. Ordered the sword Wednesday, got it Saturday as it was scheduled. All I could ask for to rate the shipping higher is if it got to me a day earlier, but not delivering a package early is not a negative to shipment. So in my case; shipping was perfect. I got the sword in a nice long cardboard box, which contained the actual Musashi box that held the sword. The Musashi box was dented a little, possibly due to delivery tussles, but I did not notice any damage to the actual sword or saya. Opening the box had the sword in a black carrying bag as you'd expect kept upright with styrofoam. It's worth noting that one of the styrofoam 'holders' was pretty much destroyed when I opened the box, which is baffling because there wasn't much area inside of the box for the foam to be thrown around and slowly broken apart. But again; there was apparently no harm to the sword, which is the important part. Other than the sword and the bag, there was also a Musha tag, and that's the whole contents. I unwrapped the sword from the carrying bag and took it out, and the first thing that struck me was just how much weight the sword had to it. I've never held a sword before, not even a training bokken or anything. So this was quite a surprise just how heavy this thing was. It wasn't straining or anything, though. Infact the weight felt very nice. Put it this way; even if the edge was blunt, you would not want to get hit with this thing due to how much blunt impact it could do to you. The wrapping around the handle is also nice and tight, and doesn't feel like it'll come undone. The blade fits nicely in the saya, which is good to know because there's apparently some conflicting opinions on this matter. I recall a few previous reviewers talking about the saya sliding off by just holding onto the hilt of the sword. Luckly for me, that was not the case. I do have to pull on the sword to get it out of the saya. The blade it's self came pre-greased / oiled which is great and is what you would expect. The blade was dirty because of this though, as some wood shavings clung to the greased surface, but this is to be expected. So if you want to get a good look at the blade, wipe the grease off. But be sure you have some light mineral oil around to re-apply the coat once you're done looking or using the sword. The over-all construction feels very, very sturdy. I didn't hear or feel any rattling parts and it felt like it was all the same hunk of metal rather than being assembled. As I said, I've yet to test the cutting strength of the blade, but I will write a follow-up review once I do. But for first impressions, it seems like it's a pretty decent sword if you're just looking for something that looks like a katana, and can function. If you don't care about 'authentic' craftsmanship or asthetically pleasing bits and bobs, this might be for you. That's the mindset I went in when I first was deciding on a sword to own; nothing fancy. I want it to look like a katana and I want it to be usable. The latter has still not been determined, but for my first impressions, this sword seems pretty well made. We'll see if it get's a 5 star after I attempt some light cutting with it, though.

Got it in the mail today, shipped fast, very sharp, only concern that it was a bit dirty, had dirt stuck to the blade but other than that this sword is amazing!

There are two complaints I have about this sword.<br />The first one is the fact that it doesn't have a real hamon. Kind of disappointing since they add a really neat design to a lot of swords. The second thing isn't that bad, its just that the sword doesn't want to stay in the scabbard, it kind of wiggles around in there, and when you want to pick up the sword, you have to pick it up by the scabbard, otherwise it will fall of if you grab it by the handle. other than those two things, its an excellent sword. very sturdy construction, SUPER sharp, and looks beautiful. another great True Swords product!

Very cool sword! It has a nice weight to it, looks amazing, feels good in your hand, and is definitely battle ready. Very sharp near the Kissaki, although not as sharp as I expected on the Hamon, but still good for slashing. I concur with the other reviews regarding the Misashi logo, it is quite sad it's not on there. Another turn off was the "Made In China" engraved on the Seppa. I didn't really like that to much but it's hardly visible so its not to bad. All in all its worth the money and a good addition to a collection regardless of the minor dislikes, and it's always good to have a battle ready sword in your collection so if someone breaks into your house you wont have to grab a weak or expensive sword to fight them off with because you'll have a nice battle ready one ready to shed some blood! ^_^

I have purchased several blades from this company, but this is the least expensive. I was prepared to be disappointed, but to my delight the quality of the blade was not less than some more expensive weapons. The Dragon Fury katana will be an ornament to my collection.

Great blade. Ok balance, and a nice tsuba. The habaki does not have the musashi logo. Too bad!

it came a week later then FedEx tracking said becuse of a dumb mall man and i work at pak mail so it isn't that hard<br /> and it bands to easly to cut wood with and thats what i wanted for a good price be it is easy to wield and sharp as<br />a razor blade no lie there plus amazing art work on the gaurd and scabbard nice silky case. so over all next to shiping a great price for this sword!

An over all nice Deal of quality and price. Not the sharpest blade, but still potentially deadly. On the curve of the tip, there was a flat dull edge that must have went unnoticed. <br /><br />Has a nice bend to it, and the overall weight is lovely. Very thick, so this gives it a lot of kinetic resistance when through any dense objects. <br /><br />4/5 Stars for the price.

Super fast delivery as usual. I own quite a few Musashi katanas so of course i knew this would be made to the same standards. Nice fit and finish. my only drawback is that it isnt as sharp as some of my others. All in all....good for the price.

I only have one word to describe this sword "AWESOME" This is the first sword i brought from this website but certainly not the last. This sword should be like around $100. The only thing i didnt like about this sword is that the scabbard and the sword bag was kind of crappy and that it is sharp but not "razor" sharp like i hoped. But overall this is a great sword for this price. i would say that anyone who would buy this sword would not be disappointed.

just got this today and feel in love with it. *hug's dragon fury battle ready katana* it is very well made and looks so great you might not ever want to fight with it. i give it 4 out of five because of two things. 1. the scabbard is very i mean very fragile dropped (on accident) and it got a big ass chip knocked off it. 2. the edge of the sword looks paper thing so im a little not a lot but just a little worried that it might break if i hit something (it just might be me so just don't really pay attention to 2) over all this is a awesome sword and i shall respect who ever made it in saying great job.

I ordered this sword, and was very excited to get it, as it was my first katana. However it was a bit disappointing, as there were a couple of faults. First of all, I had chosen express 3 day shipping, and it took 5 days for it to ship, because apparently the processing took 2 days, and I though that 3 day shipping was the overall, not just from FedEx to my house. The second thing that I was disappointed in was the fact that the blade was pretty dull. I tested the blade out on various things, and it wasn't even able to cut paper without me putting a good amount of force. All in all the katana as a whole is decent for its price, and I think I just got unlucky, and I ordered a sharpening stone to see if that will help me at all with the sharpness.

Very impressed with this sword right out of the box. Although I am a little displeased at the sharpness. The tip of the blade is very dull and there is a nich and a burr on the sharp edge in one place. I guess you get what you pay for.

I wasnt 100% satisfied the blade is quality, the handle is sturdy, and the tsuba is motherfuckin beautiful. What put a ) : face on me was that i was unable to disassemble the sword as it said you could in the description. Im still though impressed with what ive got trueswords good shit it'll do i suppose

Very please with the katana overall. Shipping time was very quick and securely packaged. Everything looked and felt very good with the exception that the Saya was so loose that the katana just falls out, which is very dangerous. I know things can loosen up through repeated usage, but mine came out of the package completely loose. Obviously, this must have slipped through the cracks at quality control. I guess, for the price, what should I expect.

I am writing a follow up review and I was kinda dissapointed with mine because the washers are loose and the tsuba is very slightly loose also the big thing is it had two blowouts one happened when I accidentally hit it on the plastic rim of a two liter and was very minor the other I was cutting rolled up newspaper with a 3\8 in. Wooden dowel and I hit the edge of the dowel and it caused a significant blowout other wise this is an amazing light cutter
