This M48 Kommando stiletto features a black coated AUS-6 stainless steel blade that rockets open with the help of a lightning fast assisted open mechanism.

TO ANYONE CONTIMPLATING THE PURCHASE OF THIS KNIFE.......BUY IT. I BELIEVE THIS PROCDUCT IS SECOND TO MANY OTHER LIKE KNIVES.I WILL GIVE THIS KNIFE TO MY FRIENDS AS A GIFT WITHOUT ANY HESITATION.I WOULD HAVE TO GUESS THAT COLLECTORS HAVE ALSO PURCHASED THIS KNIFE.FEELS GOOD TO HANDLE AND IS SMARTLY CONSTRUCTED.IT NEEDS ADDITIONAL SHARPENING BUT I CONSIDER THIS A SUPERFICIAL ITEM.THIS IS MY THIRD PURCHASE FROM KENNESAW CUTLERY,HOWEVER,NOT MY FINAL.
ONE OF THE BEST KNIVES IV BOUGHT,,SO MUCH SO WHEN I LOST IT ,, I BOUGHT TWO MORE. ID RECOMMEND THIS ASSISTED OPEN KNIFE TO ANYONE
I bought this knife online and when I opened it I fell in love with it. Great knife, great blade, and great handle. One day I dropped this knife on my toe and the blade is so sharp from the box I didn't feel a thing till I looked down and saw blood. Now I'm not going to lie to you it still hurt but not as much as you would think. Plus if anybody has a problem with you the fast blade will probably tell them to screw off. Great knife!!
I am very skeptical when it comes to purchasing stuff over the internet. But I have to say that I was quite impressed the day my M48 Kommando arrived in the mail. This knife is everything it claimed to be. It fits well in hand, and the spring assist mech. works great! I going to buy some more for christmas presents.
This knife is great especially for the price. Sturdy construction, quick opening, and sharp blade. Very satisfied.
This knife is great and for only 10 bucks it's a steal! The screw near the top of the blade(I forgot what it's called) needed to be loosened and it neads to be sharpened but that's no sweat! Its really easy and speedy-fast to open I love it. This is my new EDC knife! Thanks Budk!
This knife is badass, the handle is perfect and has a nice feel to it and the blade has an extremely sharp point and can slice through anything. On top of that, the assisted open is so fast my friends thought it was an automatic knife. Worth every penny.
This is probably the sweetest knife I've ordered yet,and the sharpest, already buried about a half inch of it in my leg,my fault.I wish it came in a larger size.I'd buy two or three.
Wow just wow this is an amazing buy I just got it today and I love it . Its bigger than I anticipated too! Fast to open but one small complaint is the speed doesn't stay constant after breaking it in but all in all great knife
One of my favorites, high quality sharp, long blade. Good assist mechanism and perfect size. I like the self opening blade spur that you catch on the edge of your pocket and the knife is open as soon as you pull it out. Also has the pocket clip on the right end of the knife so you pull it out and you are holding it correctly so you don't have to flip it over and when it is in your pocket all you see is the clip and the glass breaker point.
This knife works great and easily clips to the inside of my boot. I might buy another one.
best knife that I have bought yet from budk has held up well and all of the screws have stayed in. Havent had any problems with the lock yet. blade takes a great edge and holds it fairly well. after a month or so of regular use it is still working like the day I took it out of the box,I would have prefeered it to have a true 4" blade but close enough
Nice and light. Knife opens easily, and fast. Comes extremely sharp. Great knife for the money.
The assisted opening mechanism is great. It is as good as knives that cost twice as much. The rest of the knife is well constructed. I would recommend to friends and family.
It's a well built knife and the assisted opening works very well. One of my best purchases.
Got this for my birthday! Nice knife.. surprisingly heavy weight for such a small knife. Extremely sharp blade, shaved hair off my arm, lol... Will definitely buy from this company again!
Great price for fast opening blade! The opening mechanism works smooth and only $10 you can't beat it...
love this knife. got this for my girlfriend and was so cool i wanted it for myself. perfect self-defense knife. strong lock, assisted open, pocket snag quillions, glass breaker, pocket clip adds grip in the underhand position. love it, just love it
This is a beautiful, very sharp, extremely well made knife, and, as advertised, the blade virtually flies out with almost no effort on your part, yet it is completely safe to carry and handle. The blade is excellent quality steel and should hold an edge well. Again, beautifully made and very servicable.
I really like this knife! The assisted opening is smooth and solid, no accidental closing. The overall weight of the knife is good, so that it doesn't weigh your pocket down while carrying it' and the pocket clip is just the right tension for easy access to the knife when needed. The sharp point on the end of the handle adds that extra little something, if you are carrying the knife as a piece of personal protection. It has become one of my favorites!
I Have purchased many knives from BudK, Of all the assisted opening knives that I've bought from BUDK, the M48 Kommando Black Stiletto Assisted Open'' BAD TO THE BONE'' is the best.
I have purchased many many items from BudK. There has only been once I was slightly disappointed only because I didn't read carefully enough. Having said that knives and canes seem to be my favorites. I have at least 15 I bought here at Buds. and by far hands down this knife is the best they have in there product line. How can I say that ( I haven't seen them all) because I don't think you could get a better knife. I have already bought 3 more and I am going to buy more before the price goes up. These knives have a smooth action,Sharpe and heavy blade,it is easy to open and it opens faster then the eye can see.I have many switch blades and this knife out does them all. Sorry for being long winded. Robert.
nice knife only thing I found wrong is the pocket clip came off while while wearing it. Oh well the knife is small enough to fit in my pocket so no harm done (only reason it got 4 stars not 5)
It's a decent knife, works well, guys love them when I give them as gifts! Seem solidly make, no complaints !
hey yo this is great open assist for 10$ bones. i shaved a 4 inch patch of hair off my forearm. also have the fighter and the tomahawk. M48 is a quality series, for price, by united cutlery.cant decide between hammer or spear for next purchase.alsowould like to get one of the damscus katanas... but would like to see you guys purposfully trying to break the the sword to show limit. either way from what i have seen ill be a long time customer.
Of all the assisted opening knives that I've bought from BUDK, the '' BAD TO THE BONE'' sells the best.
Purpose: EDC/Light cutting Ratings out of 10 Blade 6/10 Handle: 6/10 Edge: 6/10 Sheath: N/A Durability:5/10 United Cutlery's M48 Kommando line has been met with varying reviews. They are known chiefly for their version of the Vietnam tomahawk, and the line has branched out into many different products, some better than others. This $10.00 pocket knife is a $10.00 pocket knife... not that there's anything wrong with a $10.00 pocket knife, but know what you're buying. The blade came with an OK edge. First thing i did was take it to the sharpener. it took a pretty decent edge, but it is stainless... you know the routine. It certainly takes an edge well enough to do some cutting. The black coating is kind of fragile, and will come off with day to day use, but does look nice while it lasts. The assisted open is very tight out of the box (will probably loosen up a bit with use), so you have to put a decent amount of pressure on the finger stud to get it to flip open. Once it does, tho, if flips open quietly and has enough push to lock into place. This blade safety is a liner lock with a fairly small, angled thumb stud which also requires a fair amount of pressure to push out of the way to close the knife. On mine, the liner lock doesn't go very far over towards the center of the blade, so watch how hard you press and DON'T put any pressure on the back of the blade. If you do, you may not be able to count as high as you used to, or will, at least, need a good supply of band-aids. Just a heads up. The hinge is NOT overly strong, so I would NOT advise doing any kind of stabbing/digging/thrusting with this blade. At best, you'll probably break he tip, at worst, the blade would likely break at the hinge. This is strictly a cutting knife. The handle is plastic, and the scales are reasonably tight (mine has the slightest of gaps between kn ife frame and the scales themselves) and are secured with a few small, star bit screws at the bottom and one larger near the top which also acts as the pivot pin for the blade. Handles feel smooth (see: slick), and the M48 medallion is a nice aesthetic touch. The back side has your typical pocket clip which should hold the knife in place, and the glass breaker at the pommel...well.... it breaks glass. Handy should the situation arise. What's the bottom line? Not a working man's knife, but if you're in the market for a nice looking, stiletto type folder, and you don't do a lot of heavy duty cutting, this might be worth a look. If you're someone who puts their knife thru it's paces on a daily basis as I do, Bud K has a LOT of other, reasonably priced knives that you'll probably be happier with. Again, not condemning this knife by any means, just know what you're getting. Stay Sharp! "13"
First of all, I agree that this is a wonderful knife. The assist is quick and easy to use. It's sharp and looks great. That being said I had a problem with the blade lock jamming and found the knife itself uncomfortable in my hand as opposed to more traditional designs and the handle felt cheap. For the price, I'd stick with the BudK bk1830 model but that is just one man's opinion.
