If customizing I recommend doing and ito wrap on the handle to make it look like the one on the movie you'll need about 5 feet of ito wrap sold on sword n armory online. I also forgot to mention the ball it has some weight and can do a number if you hit yourself or someone swinging it. Thanks Budk, you guys are the best.

I'm a big fan of this movie and really wanted this knife. I was very skeptical because most replicas are not functional. To my surprise things knife is awesome, very sharp and easy to handle. While the chain is very little and brittle, swinging this thing around isnt a good idea. Instead I went with a 4' 2mm chain which makes it more functional for swinging. I plan to added a more longer length of chain in the future or if you choose you can take the chain off its a really good knife without. Oh ive had this atleast 2 and a half years and never had any issue with rusting. I recommend to any fans or anyone interested in a modern shoge.

Awesome weapon, but like everyone else on here the chain is a bit of a disappointment. You'll literally get what you pay for with this weapon

My third purchase from True Swords and once again they come through with a great item. They never cease to amaze me. Other than the chain being really thin and a lot shorter everything else was phenomenal. The blade is constructed great and it did come pretty sharp(at a good angle it can slice through paper and cardboard like a super sharp razor blade.) All in all great item and I will be purchasing more from them.

amazing, like its right out of the movie. the ball weight on the end of the chain was heavier than i expected and the blade is very stable and well made. awesome buy, very pleased
Apr 02, 2012

the blade is great the weighted ball is also a plus but the chain sucks so buy about a 3 meter heavy duty chain and you got a great weapon I did and i use this weapon every day. thanks again true swords

One of the greatest weapons in my collection. I have always wanted one, but could not find one. the delivery was fast, and I will definitley be buying more swords.

the blade is thick, and the chain is long. the steel ball is very heavy for its size, and ever so worth the buy. id suggest this to all my friends if any of them bought blades like these.

the chain looks flimzy and not strong at all.
Mar 08, 2011

only problem is chain too thin not long enough other then that its great the knife if best quality i seen
Feb 18, 2011

sexy as hell, and VERY sharp. The only thing is, the chain is a little weak but thats easily fixed with the purchase of a stronger chain

I'm going to be honest, i was expecting something a little less quality than what i received. This is an amazing blade if i do say so myself.
Aug 22, 2010

this is a good weapon but like all the other reviews is the chain is a little to thin anda little to short . i wasnt expecting it to be as sharp as it is and for its price its awesome. i would get it again and recommend getting it
Jul 21, 2010

blade was sharp
arrived very quick

only problem is that the chain is only like 5' but that can be very easily fixed
Jun 29, 2010

bad ass weapon i thought the chain would be shorter but is a good 3 to 3 1/2 feet the handles real small fits perfect to any hand/palm blade is sharp and pointy as hell plus u can throw it 5/5 on of my new favorites
Jun 16, 2010

this is a sharp blade do not underestimate the power of this blade this is the ultimate weapon for that ninja inside. this comes with the knife and ball chain thanks true swords.

The real products are the ball and the blade. The chain is total crap. The blade is a very nice blade though the nylon wrap is a little slick but nothing parachord can't fix. The rings are a disgrace but who doesn't have some key rings laying around? The ball (when attached to a real chain) can do some real damage If used correctly. In my years as a student of ninjutsu I have yet to find a chain weapon quite this nice. Though it certainly can be improved apon construction wise, it's still a very capable weapon in the proper hands.

The knife was very well made and I love how it looks exactly like the one in movie. Unfortunately the chain it comes with is some crap. I literally broke it with one tug. But no problem, just get yourself a long wallet or dog chain and your Ninja Assassin replica is good to go.
Aug 21, 2011

Great weapon, the only thing wrong was the rings attaching
the blade and ball to the chain...very thin and brittle. If you want to actually use this weapon, replace those with key rings.
Jun 01, 2011

this knife is alright. the ball and chain are good. the knife was sharp but had dry glue on the guard. the rings that hold the chain and ball are weak. the chain is long and gets tangled. all an all a good knife for the price especially if ur a fan of ninja assasin.

Good deal, package arrived in two days.
The blades edge wasn't as sharp as to my liking but it wasn't blunt. Some TLC can fix that right up. The steel ball is considerably larger than I expected and the chain (while thin and most likely unreliable) held up to my initial tests.

My big problem is the nylon sheath. The barb of the blade gets caught 100% of the time on the seam when you try to draw it.

This is much more satisfying than my last purchase and I will continure to stock my shelves through Trueswords.

The Blade and knife are great quality. The Chain is not very long but for the price is not bad at all. if you wish to extend or put a heavier chain on it would be easy just go to your local hardware store and ask for straight machine chain. normally a dollar or two a foot.

This thing is just a good time. Very sharp, and very nice looking right out of the box. The chain is very weak however...and the very first time I put just a little pull on the chain, the knife part snapped off the chain. Chain could easily be replaced though, and this is definitely a fun addition to have in my collection.

This weapon can not be treated like most traditional rope darts, the ball end can be used as a meteor hammer, but the blade will take a lot of practice. If you do wish to "use" this dagger, I recommend taking out the key chain links and substituting a light durable chain. In the movie the blade had black leather tsuka maki ito katana wrap not a chord wrapped handle, substitute the handle wraps or do a light nylon over the chord for grip. I have studied many different weapons of many different kinds, this blade is far more unique than anything I have ever used before, the blade simply glides through the air. One thing I learned tho is to keep in it doesn't always swing blade out, you have to control it and I recommend practicing this with the included sheath. The company who distributed didn't do their best job in construction as a "usable blade", but I feel it is to be realized this is NOT a real weapon, it's a movie replica.
Aug 24, 2010

length is: 7 inch blade, 4 inch handle, 11 inches total. chain is short about 3 feet but you can change out the chain. ball is decently heavy about a paper weight size. blade came very sharp. delivery was fast about 3 days. im pleased with the product.
Jul 21, 2010

Awesome piece. Everything i expected, almost. On the steel ball, there is a very dirty weld where the chain attaches. I was eventually able to clean it but it was a real pain. as far as the blade goes, the blade is semi-sharp but it is a little inconsistent along the length. However it is an easy to sharpen blade.
Jun 24, 2010

Pretty nice weapon. Looks very lethal, however, the chain is a bit too short and skinny. Sort of hard to swing with sweaty hands especially because of the thin links. Dont expect to rip a sword out of someone's hands with this, as your fingers will probably slip right past the chains all the way to the ball held on by 2 tiny keychain rings (take a close look in the photo)
Jun 23, 2010

great knife. great look. very sharp. although i do wish the chain was alittle thicker and longer. other than that pretty satisfied
Jan 03, 2013

I thought this weapon was a good investment for me and my collection. The blade itself maintains a nice curve for a better cutting surface area. The handle is wrapped nice and tight. It looks just like the one from the movie. But, the chain sux. If you buy it, modify it with your own chain. And the polynylon sheath is HORRIBLE. The point of the knife slices the inside seam everytime it goes in and out. My sheath got messed up the first day I received it. Out the box for less than 2 hours before it happened. But this isnt a weapon designed to be in a sheath like that anyway. Forget the chain, forget the sheath. Its dope anyway. if you got a ninja in you, you can hook it up real nice to your own liking, like I did ;)
Oct 18, 2012

i found this knife to be very poor weapon of choice because one you cant even swing the weapon with the weight and two the chain snaps so i found this was kinda not so great
May 18, 2012

The blade is perfect but i was very disappointed in the chains length and gauge size or in other words chain needs to be at least twice to three times longer and be about three to four times thicker for it to be a more accurate replica.
Feb 18, 2012

I love the knife, however i had way too many issues with the chain, the original rings used to attach the chain to the ball (which is adequately heavy for its purpose) and knife are far too flimsy for what its supposed to do, the heavier rings are also too weak for the purpose it was designed for, so if you buy this and want it functional i suggest that you replace the entire chain assembly with either a cable or sturdier chain. the only other downside is the sheath the knife catches on it frequently when drawing it in a hurry. other than those few flaws this weapon is quite good.
Oct 06, 2010

the blade is nice and sharp and was all in in good condition but i dont like the chain is to small and to thin but you can always replace it with a new one if you can find it luckly i have studied this weapon for i long time befor getting it that i know what cind of chain to get and how long to get it
