A knife for giants

If you are 8 feet tall, 350 lbs., this knife is for you. I didn't realize how huge it is until my order arrived. Beautiful design and good materials and finish, but too gigantic to be practical. Nice showpiece, but I have dozens of other knives that I would rather carry for woodscraft or self defense. This is too large to be practical, and other reviews will tell you that for cutting down trees, use an axe or chainsaw, not this knife (because it will break). I will keep mine and don't regret my purchase (due to the low sales price) but won't carry it. The handle design is really attractive, and I wish that Schrade made other fixee blades of a practical size with the same handle and sub-hilt design.

Big knife for the Great Outdoors.Love this knife and would go anywhere with it as a survival tool or self protection.First impression was wow I got my moneys worth and more. This feels great sturdy and had a pretty good edge but after I took it down to my shop and ran it through my sharperner BAM its a slicer & diceing machine(HOLDS A EDGE)and would make Bigfoot run for the Hills(YaHoooooo!)

good solid blade. nice edge. only thing that i would change is the handle. it is big, as in thick. almost to the point of not having a good purchase. i have big hands too. it needs slimming down a good bit.

Monster Bowie

This is the heaviest and largest bowie I have bought so far. I use it to chop branches and to quarter deer. I have split the hind quarters and chopped heads off with one swipe. Sharp out of the box. The only reason I did not give it 5 star rating is because it got knocked off my tailgate and the blade broke in half.( very brittle ) telling me that it is very hard, which is great unless you drop it on concrete. I would still recommend this knife. It is the best reasonably priced monster bowie that I have found. I replaced the broken one with another just like it.

Great ,Big, Solid, heavy, Bowie shape axe!!!!Does not carry well on tactical web belt! Took mine on hike w/ tac vest & sheath tore in half. Definitely a wonderful camp knife& tool. I love this knife, good fit, finish, steel, design, SIZE!!!!! More for cowboy/ horse carry to balance opposite heavy revolver. Good outfitter tool. Needs rivets & reinforce band @ sheath throat to handle heavy hilt & blade. Phenomenal Schrade built product @ less than wholesale from True Swords, again. Knife 6 stars, sheath, minus 2. Thanx again

I am surprised at the mixed reviews. This is a solid blade. Although unrated steel I suspect 420 unpolished stainless. I give it a 4.7

great bowie

this is a great bowie im happy with it. thick blade not as sharp out of the box as id like but not to bad. This knife is even bigger then the Timber rattler outlaw bowie. sheath is not bad quality either, even has the leather smell. If you have the chance buy this knife I had to Waite 5 months before it came back available 0/10 id give this bowie an 8 because its not full tang and the handle is almost to large

Now That's a KNIFE!

OK, this thing is a sight to behold. It's as long as my forearm and weighs as much as a cat! The sheath is heavy saddle style leather and has a lovely crosshatch design. I took it out in the back yard to see how it fared clearing some brush. It passes through twigs and rosebushes like they weren't there and took care of some larger dry branches with three or four chops. It has a great finish and a nice balance. I am a big man at 6'4" so keep in mind that this is a LARGE blade. My daughter refuses to call it a knife. It's a sword!

Scchrade SCOR

I was very impressed with this blade. Big and sturdy, however the 4th chop on a 1/1.5 inch limb the tang broke and now I have to return this item. Not saying it's a bad buy, but I am not pleased that it would do any hard work without breaking. First time ever had any problem with items from BUDK.
