Authentically detailed collectibleSteel reinforced polyresin with molded details19 1/2” hammer head; 35” overall lengthPresented with a polystone wall mount displayIncludes certificate of authenticity
One of the greatest warriors in Middle-earth, Dain Ironfoot, led his army of Iron Hill Dwarves in defense of Erebor in a mighty battle of five armies. He fiercely conquered his foes on the battle-field with his war hammer, a heavy, brutal weapon, marred with the scars and battle damage from many years of use. This authentically detailed collectible is a reproduction of the CGI digital model used in the motion picture, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The 35” War Hammer is crafted in steel reinforced polyresin, with precisely-molded details and coloring. It is presented with a polystone wall display and includes a certificate of authenticity.

First off, I was hesitant to buy one given the reviews on amazon so them destroyed. I was waiting for them to go on further clearance, but they sold out so I had to go through eBay quickly to avoid jacked up prices. Fortunately mine arrived undamaged, which is rare for me with resin. I knew I was buying a resin piece so that won't affect the rating. How people miss this fact is beyond me? I give it 4 stars due to its weight. I just don't think it needs to be a 25 pound super fragile toy hammer. So basically make sure you hit a stud in the wall or risk it falling and breaking. Visually its amazing and goes great the the Helm if you've collected both.
Typically United's polyresin replicas are met with warranted skepticism (it's a weapon made of plastic after all) but I've got to admit they're a sight to behold. This is the third polyresin piece I've collected (after the Mace of Azog and Mace of Sauron) and it falls into the same category as those other two: amazing to look at, not much to feel. The reason I love the swords United makes is because I can walk into the room and pick one up and it feels like a powerful, something this polyresin replica doesn't grant. It's obvious why they don't make the maces and warhammers out of metal (weight and precision of molding), but there's really no substitute for steel in the realism department. Bottom line: if you're the kind of collector who wants an attention grabbing piece, get this one. If you're the kind (like me) who likes to pick things up and experience the feel of it, maybe you're better off investing in some steel replicas.
