Shinwa Purple Emperor Damascus Steel Katana Sword

I have been admiring this sword for quite a while now. I figured why not spend my children's inheritance....lol. Then they promised it would be here by the end of the day on 12/23/17. Ok, True Swords, has once again delivered a very beautiful, affordable sword to me faster than i can even imagine. My new sword was delivered 12/19/17. TS has a sense of humor, at least I think so. I open this big box, thinking, this thing is HUGE, but inside that box with a ton of padding, was another box. i rip open that box, and find another box(the sword display box), so i gently open that box, thinking I'm Indiana Jones about to find the Arc, and the sword is in a sword bag. Well played TS, well played. seriously though, i got a great sword, very affordable( guess my kids will get their inheritance after all) and amazingly beautiful, delivered Earlier than i expected. One last thing, there was a note in the bag, stating the obvious, "no matter how strong the steel is in a sword blade, it will nick when struck against something equally hard like a tree trunk. there are other tools such as axes and machetes which are designed for this purpose." i understand cutting mats and plastic bottles and other cutting training, but seriously, why would you use an item with such beauty on anything like that? Zombies, the jury is still out on how well it performs against them. lol. If you want a great affordable addition to you sword collection, or if this is your first sword, I highly recommend this sword.

Great sword. Shipping said it would take 7-10 business days and it only took one. Mine came REALLY sharp. Strong durable sword, great start to my collection! Bring it on zombies!!!

This sword fully exceeds my expectations. I bought this sword because of the purple wrap, being my favorite color and I've never seen another purple sword anywhere. And to be honest I expected a rat tail tang and dull edge. While the edge isn't actually razor sharp its pretty close. And it is full tang. I did some durability testing right out of the box by chopping up said box. Also some light brush and tree branches. This blade is very heavy and very strong from what Ive seen so far. After the testing I cleaned it up for inspection and found no dents or dings and it was just as sharp as it came. Minor scratching from the thick cardboard and occasional thick branch. All in all I am very satisfied with this buy and will most likely buy another if these prices stay decent.

This is a great buy. It comes in it's own case and is good quality steel. I do have to agree with other buyers in that it is not a Katana just because it is shorter than the standard but all in the same is a very good sword for any one's collection.

I debated on buying this sword, cause I don't like purple on anything! But because it was damascus and had a low price at the time I ordered it, I would go ahead and check it out. Wow, I'm glad I did! This sword is a very handsome sword and the color purple to my amazement really looks good on this sword! Buy it,you won't regret it!

This sword is a value above value! It is flawless. I bought it because it's a Shinwa blade, and I knew the blade would be a very fine one. It was, and then some!, but so was the rest of the sword. The sword is heavy and requires more than average strength to use it effectively. I just like showing it off mostly, because I like watching the faces of the beholders. It is a very beautiful sword.

this is the best buy for your money this sword very heavy. you can take it apart like any good sword and clean it. nice box that it comes in came sharp what a nice sword to start your collection

Amazing Sword very sturdy decently sharp blade looks nice the quilt is great the fact that its straight is actually not as disappointing as I thought cuts through bottles and fruit with ease Its my new favorite weapon I named her "Tsubaki"

very nice sword it could be sharper, and when it says folded over 2000 times that's a lie. the samurais only used swords folded 60 times. One more thing you couldn't get a sword for 70 dollars that's folded over 2000 times.

This is a beautiful sword. Great blade, very strong, and beautiful pattern. Tight wrapped cord, and easy to handle. The blade is a bit heavy, and I did need to clean the ray skin quite heavily to remove the white dusty covering on it. However for the price of this sword, its a bargain. You will not be disappointed, as this has rapidly become one of my favorites.

Length of the Katana, but straight like the Ninjato. Suprisingly nice blade. Cheap Tsuba and Kashira, however easily replaceable. For the price, you cannot find a finer katana quality.

I bought the Shiwas Purple Knight sword a few months ago. For the money it is a super buy. Like many Shinwa pieces its weakest element is the tsuba or handguard. The tsuba on my sword was loose and lopsided. Swinging such a sword into an object is dangerous as the guard could fail. The tsuba is a zinc casting and is quite brittle. Shinwa makes a good sword, why not charge an couple of extra dollars and put a steel or iron tsuba on what is in many ways a really good sword?

Don't listen to anybody that says these are like true combat swords. I am a true sword collector that has Chinese, European and Japanese swords. The pride of my collection is a $700 katana and let me tell you that if you tried to block an overhand stroke from my expensive katana With this one, the blade will likely shatter or bend or the tang would crack. Despite this it's a good novelty sword that can actually perform functionally if needed, at least for a bit.

Never heard of anyone having tested the durability and functionality of any shinwa katanas..how good the blades are and how durable these swords, all I heard from these comments were purely visual admiration and fascination from the owners and collectors..IS THERE ANYONE THERE WHO HAVE TORTURE TESTED THESE SWORDS TO FIND OUT ITS CAPABILITY? PLEASE!!! WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU GUYS.......THANK YOU...
