Unshu Miikan Musashi Carbon Steel Katana Sword

I was impressed by the shipping and care used to delivery the sword to me. It is a GREAT display piece or practical weapon. Very sharp!

Let me start by saying that upon receiving the sword I was very impressed with the quality of overall craftsmanship at the price of the blade. It arrived on time and in excellent condition, beautifully oiled, and well balanced with an excellent weight. The reason I rate it so low is because while testing the strength and cutting power of the blade I became very apparent that the blade did not perform nearly as well as other blades made of 1060 carbon steel (which happens to be my preference), after just a few sessions of light and moderate cutting with regular oiling and cleaning done to the blade the edge lost its sharpness faster than I could have imagined as well as the blade actually bending itself which i had never managed after years of practice and with other blades of this quality. overall not bad for the price but I feel other 1060 blades out perform this sword by far.
